Hello All,
My 99 Runner is high enough but it rides very harsh compared to when it was new. What suggestions can be made to get the ride back to newish?

as long as your not running any extra weight?

I have been running this setup with some OME rear springs for about 6 months and it's awsome.

Bilstein 0-2.3" 6112+5160 Lift Kit for 1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner

I would pair it with some stock Toyota springs in the rear.

I run mine with 1" lift in the front and 2" springs in the rear but... you can totally set it up with 0 lift as well.

for the rear toyota spring this one is fine

do this and it should ride like a new truck. I would also say tires can make a huge difference. I used to run load range D tires but have swapped back to load range C and it also provides a much cushier ride on the road.

Well, that's easy. Buy OEM shocks as replacements. All shocks have oil in them, it not only wears out with use but also with time.

I do have to say that bushings made a *MUCH* more noticeable difference than new shocks on my own '99 (with 190k miles). Again, go with OEM if you want the softest ride.

OEM Toyota shocks and coils. Look into replacing your sway bar end link bushings and sway bar bushings. It will eliminate excessive body roll, or side to side "sloshing" movement.

P-rated tires. Make sure your bushings and shocks are good.

Bushings can especially be a night and day difference and very easy fix, depending on which ones. You'll really notice it on bumpy/wavy roads

Definitely shocks and springs - well at least the shocks. No shock compression = very harsh ride as the springs are very stiff on the 3rd gens.
