I finally ordered my Cornfed 2/1

Driver Rear: 35.5"
Passenger Front: 33.5"
Passenger Rear: 35.75"

Looks like my car leans to the driver's side by .25" both front and back. Also seems like the rake is 2.25".

With a typical 2/1 lift, I would expect the rake to go to 1.25", however with this new fangled lift, I'm going to estimate it at a 2.6875" front lift, and a 1" rear, resulting in .56" of rake. What do you guys think? Not enough rake, or should I go for it?

Amount of rake is a personal preference. I like mine at 1", think it looks perfect. Ideally I would even like to have a 2" rake so that many years down the road, when natural spring sag occurs (as with all 4R's, not just spacer lifted ones) it would still look fine. Personally I would think 0.56 is a little too little, but some want it perfectly level as in 0.0" rake. It is up to you.

Is there one or more things that made you decide to go with the Confed over the Daystar?

Well I would have preferred it to be at 1", thats why I ordered this kit. I guess I'll try what I have and see what happens, and if its too little, complain to cornfed and J.B. for them to send me a larger rear spacer to make the problem less evident.

There were several considerations. I think I have a thread around here somewhere that I started. Ultimately, I like the preload/topout ratios, same reason JA chose DS, so its really up to you. I liked ordering from J.B. and I liked the "number of miles" put on CF by people on this forum. Also, CF provided a smaller package that DS std.

Kinda of getting to the lean , don't forget tour fuel tank is on the drivers side and will also pull it down.

It a lot of weight on that side with gas in it .

Yeah I'm not too worried about it, I was just posting that information because I know airbur's thread is happening simultaneously with mine.

From Jason:

I'm assuming you haven't installed installed the kit yet and you
are going by the measurements and thinking that your going to have
too much front lift. Remember, that part of the preload of that 7/8"
is replacing the factory coil isolation bushing that is roughly 3/8"
which if that is subtracted out of his math, does bring the final height
gains back where is marketed at 2" front and 1" rear...

All I have to say is: =D

Given this new information:
Old Rake 2.25"
Rake provided by lift -1"
Final rake 1.25"

On Running boards:
Old rake .7"
Rake provided by lift -1"
New rake -.3"

Overall rake much better, and lifted. Running board rake goes the other direction, but is less overall than before (and thus less noticeable).

I'm going to try to install tomorrow. Autozone $40 for compressor, they will be expecting a return for full refund. Need to buy locktight as well, and I have decided to keep the aluminum spacer unsprayed, mostly because I like the look =D.

Am I correct in seeing your running boards will be higher in front than back ?

Yes you will be correct in stating that, at least in theory. I'll report once it's done. It should only be a very slight drop. Virtually unnoticable. Check out Hivel's thread for pictures.

That refreshes my memory...... hey at 45 y/o I forget:D

His looks level with a slight nose high tweek. Although it looks good , I hate the nose high look or even the hint of it , but its all part of the modifying.
It always looks like its sagging a little in the back end or weighted down.

I thought the 2/1 would still give you a 1" rake , but it looks like visually its perfectly level or up a little.

I wish I could come and help you with the lift , I would love to get the knowledge and understanding. Still don't know what I want to do.

You think it looks like its sagging?

When I added my 1" front leveling kit, I noticed that my runnings boards were still higher in the back than the front, but only by about 1/4". So I don't see how a 2/1 kit would make the front of the running boards higher than the rear if the advertised amount of lift is accurate.

If you measure your running boards front and back before lifting, you'll see that the rear of the board is higher than the front. I always thought they were level on stock 4Runners, but that's not the case from what I've seen.

This is also what I've measured, however as I've shown, the rake is only .7". I'll let you know what it is after the lift, which will be tomorrow night.

Hivel's doesn't look like it is sagging, but it does look like his running boards are going slightly downhill from front to rear.

I prefer the way J.A. left a little bit of rake in his lift.

I hate to break it to you, but I think it's just your perception, as both lifts employ a 1" rake difference.

If they are both 2/1 lifts, then he could not have simply decided to leave the rake. It's probably the pictures because one is on flat pavement and one is on grass.

Also, you may not be adding in the factor that there are bigger tires on it, which fill the wheel well more, giving the illusion that it is not as high in the front.

Thats what I was talking about . JA's looks to have a rake to it more so than Hivels. Maybe its the position of how the truck is sitting , the bigger tires , or the difference in styling if the wheel wells.

I'll have to check JA'S site to see the measurements and if he has a rake or if thats just the photo. Both trucks look great though , so its all personal preference . It seems we all want things tweeked a perfect way for trucks.

Yes, and I think that we can all agree that rake or not, a lifted or leveled 4runner (depending on personal preference) looks much better than stock. I can't wait for my cornfed to get here.
