I finally ordered my Cornfed 2/1

Yes, why do you ask? I'm not going with bigger tires on my 4Runner, especially since I don't need them with just a 1" front leveling lift.

IMO, the 70-series tires only look good when you have a minimum of a 2/1 lift.

Just wondering if you off roaded , I never mentioned anything about bigger tires ( for you ), I know you like the looks of the 65 series , that cool , to each his own.

hey when you put your kit in the front where did you gain your inch , front bumper , wheel lip to ground , running board ?? ( should I say measure from )

That sounds like a great idea, but I don't have $600 to spend on something that I don't need...

Well, I guess everyone has their own opinion, but I think 70's look good with a 2/1 lift. 65's are definitely too small for that amount of lift. Probably the best look for a 2/1 lift is a 285/70, which is slightly bigger than the 265/70, in both width and sidewall height.

I measured exactly 1" of lift at the wheel well openings, as measured at the center line of the wheel. Interestingly, I also measured the amount of lift at the front skid and bumper, and it was actually slightly more than 1". I guess that has to do more with the fact that the measurement was in front of the center line of the axle.

Even with tires and amount of lift , to me sometimes it really depends an what style of tire . I also wasn't thinking , I had a visual of a 3/2 CF lift where I think they look to small.

Even visually I'm sure your 65 series Revos looked a heck of a lot better than the stock tires simply because of the more aggressive/sporty look to them.

well, after a few months of settling and an alignment, the 2/1 yields 1" of rake...36.5" front and 37.5" back...and thats at wheel center. I'm running 265/70/17's and wouldnt have it any other way...I absolutely love this rig now!

Sounds cool , I bet it feel like a whole new truck and the excitement of driving the 4R is even better than before. Did you have to adjust your headlights ?

I sure did have to adjust them....was getting beamed all the time!

After you lift it, don't you have less visibility out of your headlights until you get them adjusted? Seems like they would be shining into the air rather than on the ground. That's why I would get them adjusted, not because of other cars. They have to deal with big Ford trucks blinding them so what does it matter if a few Toyota trucks do it too lol.

My passion says yes , but time constraints have been a problem. I got the 1" leveling kit. (not installed ) or I would go to the 2/1 or the DS kit if I do. I would probably do it a a friends shop when he and I both have time since I will disconnect the Xreas to do it and use a wall compressor for the spacer install.

I just drive so much/miles , I pull trailers pretty frequently , that all concerns me . I do off road so clearance would be + , looks are a plus , honestly worried about top heavy feel.

I wouldn't worry about the top heavy, at least with the 2/1. Doesnt feel top heavy one bit.

No problems whatsoever, and I don't plan on having any. I've put over 500 miles on it so far, and need to recheck the bolts whenever I get a chance, will definitely do it when I rotate at 10k.

Havent had any problems on the highway, going 80+.

Sometimes I look at my runner and love it...sometimes I look at it and think it looks too low, but when I drive my old accord, it literally feels and looks like my ass is scraping the road. I kinda like it with the original tire size as well. If I got the lift I'd still want the same size tires with gas prices as they are. The roll thread that josh started got me thinking... do you notice any less stability with your kit?

I wouldn't be too worried about your height, though I'm 5'11" so I really don't understand some of the problems you might have.

I know what you mean about scraping, I ride in my mom's Avalon, and I feel SOOO low.

Despite the views of some, I don't think it looks too bad at all with the original 265/65R17's. I'm actually very happy and will keep these on till they die.

As for stability, I haven't noticed a difference at all. I have jerked it side to side, run it on the highway at 80+, and taken it on snow and ice and have felt no difference. The ride is just a tad stiffer, but this is needed in my opinion, I love the SLIGHTLY stiffer ride. I have not taken it offroad nor around right turns faster than... 35 mph, but I'd expect it to do just fine.

Ordered Dec. 16th, Recieved Jan. 3rd. Thus I received it two and a half weeks after the order date.

Looks to me like you will be getting them the beginning of next week, I'd say Tuesday or Wednesday.
