Well I first want to say thanks for the credit Nick, definitely didnt need to, nor did I expect it! I think your build thread/ideas deserve credit for a large portion of everyones build, including my own.
I must say though, you definitely lived up to your usual style of taking a mod to the next level. The attention to detail, precision, and documentation of your work always surprises me. And did I mention that the grille looks absolutely BA?!?! Crazy how much that grille changes the front end. It really looks sooooo good!! Now I feel like a chump for not color matching my own.... hahah well done! PS - great photos! Love the first one with the graffiti on the side.
Hahahah that chair just got owned! The welds look pretty damn good for a "first timer." Are you sure you've never done this before? Most peoples welds look like junk AFTER they have been doing it for a while.... these do not fall under that category.

RE the chair, that was funny. "Yeah, that's right chair! You got owned!" I just looked down at it and told it so. No crap though, those are literally my very FIRST two welds that I've ever done.
Love it. I love the hood scoop too. I've actually been thinking about doing something like this because I've noticed that the my black insert has a few chips in it. Now I know exactly how it would look if I painted it to match.
I'm glad to hear that, Hepar. Coming from my old twin, it's good to know the owner of a 4Runner with the same kind of look approves! My black insert was kinda beat up too, so the new mesh was a nice "touch up" on the scoop.
Had you painted the TOYOTA emblem black? I would've said nah! Leaving it chrome was a real genius move, man. That really caught my eyes, because it ties in really well with the whole painted-to-match grille. I like the whole nose job very much!:hatsoff:
Nice clean cut on the mesh with the angle grinder. That was the same method I used when I did mine.

I thought about doing a black emblem w/a silver outline, but the chrome emblem just looked perfect. Thanks for the congrats on the Baby too, she's alot of work, but she's going to have it good with Me and Mama, that's for sure.
SICK Grill!! I love how you tied in the grille and the scoop insert, it really looks awesome, love the attention to detail and how clean the whole thing looks. The whole rig is awesome!! Keep it up man!
