I got 15's to fit my Limited!

I'v e wanted 15's for a long time for the fact that they're easier to come buy, cheaper tires and they fit standard sizes. Well a buddy of mine happened to have a set of 15X10's sitting in his garage off of his Chevy. So i took one home with me to see if it would fit or what trimming would be needed.

About 5 minutes with a grinder and I had a 15" wheel mounted. I had to take about 1/4" down half way across the caliper. If I remove the 1.25" spacers (like I want to) then of course I'll have to go across the entire caliper. But it fits like a glove. Next step is 35x12.5's

If you got some 15" steelies, they would have fit without grinding...

I have some 33x12.5x15 on a tacoma and it fits like a glove.

Looks good Singtone. I would have gone with steelies eventually but these came up and all I have to do is top end rebuild on his 350 Chevy. And he's throwing in a case of beer! Sold!:lol:

I have some 33x12.5x15 on a tacoma and it fits like a glove.

I think the Tacomas have smaller brakes though.

I think the brakes are the same but never the less, I had bolted these wheels on my Limited and they fit just fine. The tires didn't fit though. I got some rubbing on my running boards and the lower bumper flair. If I had removed those things, the tires would have fit too.

My Tacoma was a 97 that came with 15's so maybe thats why the brakes were smaller, I couldn't get my 15's to fit my Runner without spacers if my life depended on it! Worked out good though because I never would've gotten the Tundra brakes to work with the 15's.

I got some steel 15's to fit yesterday, they needed a little grinding. I was just test fitting because Im hoping to get 35's soon and 35x1250-15's are the cheapest 35's out there. Ill just search craigslist and wait untill a good deal on some steelies come up. Then a dyi beadlock kit and 35s

15" Mickey Thompson Classic Locks on mine with what appears to be similar BS. 33x12.50's BARELY tuck in the back with rolled fenders.

Unfortunately 16 and 17" mud tires are easier to find used around here.

Nice! I also had to do this to get my cragars to fit on my old rig. You just have to be careful not to get carried away with the grinder. It's a pretty common practice though.
