I got a quick start to my build

I haven't had it for 2 months but I got my 5100's bilsteins and 1.5 day star in the rear. 285/70/17 Cooper STT PRO's on Gear alloy Manifolds 17 inch -12. I was getting pretty good amount of rub so I used my deemed and trimmed some bumper and removed the mud flap. I need to get a sanding wheel to clean up my Dremel job.

Looks good, but you gotta do something about that Rola logo. FYI, the white letters peel right off, the red one is more problematic.

Added a few other things today you see the wires off to the right of the pillar. They are for my radar detector. what can I spliced them into to have it not run constant power to the unit and possibly drain the battery?

Behind the kick panel under your steering wheel, you should be able to find some options to tap into so that your radar detector is only powered with your key-on accessories. There's some good write-ups people have done for compressors, lights, and other accessories.

For me, the easiest one (there's also a few you can use a t-tap or tap a fuse connector right at the fuse box above your left foot under the steering column) was to tap into the wire for the cigarette adapter in the lower part of the center console. I chose that so as not to mess with the Toyota wiring too much, and it was fairly easy to access, once you pull apart the center dash! :biggrin2:

Nice rig! The black rims look soo much better. Is the mount on the a-pillar a hazard should the airbag deploy? I was thinking of mounting something there too but thought it might turn into a projectile.

nah it has a little lip that puts it behind the molding and the rubber seal. It also has double sided tape. This is the best mount i have ever owned!!!

You should be able to find a switched 12V source and use a fuse tap to get power to your detector.

Also, if you remove the cover on the "A" Pillar you can feed your wiring down and drop it into the top of the kick panel and to your 12V source for a much cleaner look.

I don't think he was saying the clip would block the airbag, but that it and your phone could become potentially lethal schrapnel when the airbag blows.

I looked into these a while back. The airbag is high up. Per pro-clip, if you mount the clip down low per instructions it shouldn't kill anyone. Can't vouch for that, but it's what I heard.

Incidentally, don't they have child labor laws in your state? Making that kid mow and do mechanic work at that age has got to be illegal somewhere. :whip:
