I got asked a funny question regarding what I drive

I was going to post some snarky comment, but I couldn't figure out who to direct it at(the OP, the sexists, the butthurt gal, or the white knights).

I really could use a sandwich though.
 
The 4Runner LE is a bit of a blingy vehicle so I've never had anyone say it's a lame vehicle. I have had some older people think I own a Rav-4 when I say "4Runner" but I quickly clarify any ambiguity. I could get a 5-Series or a gently used X5 but I'm afraid of what it will cost to maintain. I'd rather just buy another brand new LE.
 
ok, sorry if i am repeating what someone else says...but there are really only two reactions here..

1. 'so you dont think its cool? be ready saturday morning, about 6am or so'...and you proceed to take her wheeling to the highest mountain top you know of...4WDing it all the way, rocks, dirt, sliding it, up steep hills, down rough terrain...and when you get to that majestic peak, you show her this amazing view, turn to her and say "so, is this cool enough?"

or, of course

2. beauty fades, dumb stays forever. hot or not...i can tell you from personal experience, if the woman you are dating doesnt 'get-it' about you...then its an uphill battle from jump. whether its 4runners, or motorcycles, or boating, or camping, or whatever...if the woman you are spending time with doesnt get why something you do for your passion...then your just waiting time. enjoy your time with her, but you already know, if she doesnt turn, then she's just a way to pass the time until ms wonderful comes along.

just my 2 cents...

ask me how many women i simply showed the door when they wanted to get me to quit racing motorcycles...
 
I'm not sure if the skinny jean wearing crowd can afford BMWs. The ones out around here are usually around the age of 18-25 and are struggling musicians or work in the service industry. There's a young kid at my studio that has one and he's just a game tester... but I suspect that it was a gift to him from his parents. There's no way you can afford one with a $15/hr salary.
 
If you live in your parents basement, eating their hot pockets, and being a leech. You can afford a pretty nice car if that's your only bill. Shit I'm sure they are even paying his insurance for him lol.

The skinny jeans wearing crowd is who designs cars lol and the 4Runner...
Those guys design them, engineers then make it functional.

Mmm I'm going to disagree. There definitely may be a few but in my limited experience the industrial designers tend not to be skinny jean wearing hipsters that you see at tech companies in Silicon Valley. The industry leans more toward the mature group, it's a pretty exclusive field with a low turnover rate on designers.

I've found that even in the games and film industry that skinny jeans are pretty hard to find within the design/illustration/concept departments.

Again, I'm sure there are still some floating around though.
 
but the skinny jeans guy getting the coffee for the real designers think he is OWED the position purely cause he deserves it ! and believes he is superior and can do a better job

at least that is my view of most of those types ;)

Something about this whole thread just seems off. Between the OP's humble brags, the woman power ambush and the oddly placed SUV vs truck debate, I just can't figure out what is going on. And I'm only on page 2.
 
I didn't read past the original post. So with that in mind: If any Woman is so superficial that the vehicle you drive determines whether she will continue seeing you, well,,,, then you might end up with a shallow, superficial gold-digger.

I work in an entirely different field and I am shocked at what people feel they are owed and the extreme measures people will go to in order to cover up their ineptitude/laziness. It's honestly alarming.
