I know, another Poor gas mileage thread.

I got 17MPG on the drive home from picking it up--probably 90% highway and 10% city driving. On my second tank I did maybe 30% highway, 70% city and I averaged 15MPG. Wish it were better, but I didn't buy a 4R for gas mileage. However, I will look everything over because 15MPG seems a tad lower than I was expecting.

Another odd question--when does everyone else's low gas light turn on? Mine didn't turn on until almost 20 miles estimated distance remaining. The needle was almost on the E, however, I only had to put 20 gallons in and the specifications list a 23 gallon tank, so no way I would have only gotten 20 miles off of 3 gallons.

My 2003 got the exact same mileage when I checked it by tank fill. Never got better than 17.5 on the freeway, but mileage computer claimed closer to 20.

My 2003 would turn the low fuel light on around 20 miles remaining, but I ran it below 0 several times.

Hate to revive an old thread on an often discussed topic but I'm a new member and can't start my own thread yet.

Got a new to me 2008 V6. Was averaging about 19 mpg with Roof Top Tent installed. Installed a 3" lift and lost a couple mpg. Nothing else changed. No larger tires, etc. It just seems like something is holding it back slightly. Before you really had to hold the brake or it wanted to go forward without hitting the gas...now not so much. Don't notice anything really dragging, but it just seems to me bogging or fighting itself ever so slightly.

Any thoughts? I was thinking increased CV angle could be the problem. Would a diff drop help? Would be pretty quick install to check. Thought brake dragging possibly, but they weren't before so I don't know why they would after the lift install. I'd really like to get back to the original mpg before I go adding larger tires and dropping it even further.

Im also in this club. Although im much worse. The car says 16.5 but I calculated 13-14 with my last fill ups. Anything that could be wrong?

Guess I'm replying to myself, but I think I found the problem. Passenger rear brake pad was frozen in the slide. It was pretty junked up, so I cleaned it and it appears to be functioning better now. I'm pretty sure that was the problem. I only got the pass rear done yesterday, but I think I'll check them all while I'm at it. Not sure why it started immediately after the lift install...maybe coincidence.

Would love to know what you find after you drive it for a bit! I'm curious about mpg impact of just a lift, nothing else changed.

I just replaced the rotors and pads in the rear and pads in the front, and im still getting trash mpg which is annoying :( and just 2 days ago I got the URD maf calibrator to hopefully add some power and get better mpgs so i'll lyk what my results are after my first tank with it
