So my exhaust has been driving me crazy lately. One of the rubber hangers broke, so the exhaust pipe sat on the frame crossmember. Every bump I hit, the pipe would bounce on the frame...very annoying.
So I looked under today, and created a solution...a really really cheap solution.
I took a 3/8" x 3" bolt, and threaded a nut on the end. Then i wedged the bolt under the exhaust pipe to aact as a spacer. It actually pushed the pipe up, which helps keep it in place. Then I took some wire and wrapped the bolt around the frame to keep it in place.
Drove it home and voila, No Rattle!!!

quick, easy, and cheap...we'll see how long it'll last.

That will quiet down the rattle... but eventually, that bolt will cut through the exhaust pipe....

If you go to a small Exhaust shop, they should be able to fix that for $20.00, just add a hanger....

You think it will? Its been sitting on the crossmemeber banging up and down since last November, and there isn't any damage to the pipe. I figured with no movement, it should be fine. I'll check it in a couple weeks and see how its going.

I do plan on getting a new cat back put in later this year (the muffler has a couple small holes...its original) so until then I'll probably just leave this.

Is it gheto? Or ghetto? LOL, at least you didn't use a pink wire clothes hanger like I've done in the past. Jeeze, thinking back to all the rigged up exhaust calamities of my teens....

haha...nah, got the bolt from stock at work...this was a free rig job, just about 10 minutes of my time.
