ok so..... i was headed over to portland oregon from idaho.... a strong head wind the whole way slowed me down and a big gust stopped me completly. i thought i blew my clutch because i didnt have any power. so i called some family and they brought a new clutch and we switched it out on the side of the freeway. we thought we had the throw out bearing backwards because it screamed. so we took it out, turned it around and put it all back together.... it screamed again....

turns out we had it right the first time so we took everything out AGAIN!!!!! after the all that we figured it had to be the tranny!... so i got towed back to idaho and took it apart.... well there was absolutly no 5th gear and the only gear that might be savable was 3rd. the bearings were fused together almost everywhere.:ybrick: the casing was even warped...

i need another tranny... ive looked and called EVERYWHERE around here in 100 mile radius of me and there is nothing under $850. i was wondering if anyone had one sitting around that u would like to see to go to great use. or anyone have any ideas near idaho or oregon area???

Craigs

You've probably already tried, but here in Kansas City there have been a few Trannys (not she-males) for sale up on craigslist over the past few weeks. Keep checking there if you haven't already.

so i found a whole truck for $600 and the dude said it had a rebuilt g52 tranny in it. the truck is a short bed. my question is... will the tranny bolt right up and be fine? the guy has papers on the tranny work. will it work? i had a w56 in mine when it blew up.

i know about the transfer cases and one being a top shift and one being a forward. othere than that it should be fine right?

The G52 is a weaker trans than the W56 but it will bolt to the engine, BUT, you will need to swap both the t-case and trans.
