I need your eyes!

So I was about to increase my bilstein 5100's up one setting to (.85) because I thought it looked tail high.

Well today, I had a friend tell me it looks perfectly level. I know the fender measurements are about 2" off but is that because it's designed like that?

Do you guys think it looks level or do you think it could use another inch or so up front?

I know its up to me to decided but I would love to be convinced it's level so I don't have to spend money getting them disassembled (don't trust auto zone spring compressor).

because of the body lines, you need a pretty significant amount of lift up front to appear "level". I'm in the same boat, but I'm not sure if you'd want to move the 5100s up. if you have one or can get your hands on one, grab a level with a magnet and throw it on the frame and see where youre at

Personally, it looks low in the front and I prefer the "leveled" look instead of having rake.

I might have to get a magnet and see where its out. I know it might take more than an inch to level it out perfectly but at least it will be closer until I can get my hands on coilovers (may be a year or more).

I agree low in the front and don't need no level to tell or see that ..front end rake is doo doo.

Looks good, leave it. Upping the 5100 will give you a stiffer ride, not worth the extra inch.

Looks good. As soon as you start carting people around or put some gear in the back it'll even it out even more. You have a very small rake, which I think looks mean.

If level is what you're shooting for, why don't you put a level right under the frame and see where you're at?

I disagree most of you. The 4th gen 4Runner "design" has a natural "body slant" toward the front. However, if you look CLOSELY at the the OP's frame/chassy line on the bottom of the vehicle, it is PERFECTLY PARALLEL to the wall/tarmac line just behind it. if he lifts the front up another inch, it may "look" more level, but in reality, the frame will be slanting toward the back of the vehicle. What the OP should do is park on a perfectly flat surface and measure the distance of the frame just in front of the back wheel, to the tarmac, and same thing with the frame just behind the front wheel. Then he will truly know how level he is.

You will never find any parking lot street road that is perfectly level. heck most garages aren't level for a reason for water drain

Agreed. There is some rake, but I like just a little because anytime you hook up a trailer or put people in the back it will be level or have a reverse rake. Looks good as is.

I think the truck/frame itself looks level but the body isn't. I like the look of that slight rake though, it's not too crazy but enough to where IMO it looks good. And like others have said, if you try to completely level it you're going to have it sitting way nose high when you haul/tow things.

There's a slight rake, but I think it looks great.

I just put a full OME lift on my truck this weekend (884/895E) and I think mine is either dead level or maybe even a tad nose high, but I expect some settling.

Level is the goal, but I'd prefer a front rake over nose high. I wouldn't mess with what you have there, though it's really personal preference.

Look at the bottom of the body compared to the ground. If looks really close to level or has a very slight front rake (nose low). If you ever plan to tow anything, even something add light as 500 pound, or put great/people in the back I would leave it where it is. As soon as is loaded it will sit really nose high unless you have airbags in the rear. Raising the bilsteins will make it nose high.

sorry I failed on my vote.. I want to change it to add about 3/4" in the front.

THe first pic is not a level surface either. I hate rakes.. Feels front heavy during braking.

i think that looks perfect- like others have said when you add people, cargo, hitch carriers and/or towing you could be nose high- plus your lighting could be high as well- plus its already done

It doesn't appear to be level but it still looks really good. I think you should raise the front because it obviously bothers you. Might as well do it since it'll be on your mind.

If you don't like it, raise it. I have the same rake as you but I prefer that because I carry a lot of gears.
