I need your help...

So I'm working on my 3.slow project. I plan on removing the heat shield on the crossover pipe and wrapping it in header tape. If I leave the clutch fan bracket off, the radiator out, can I install the short block with the cylinder heads and exhaust on or should I install the block, and then, the cylinder heads afterwords...

I would definitely hook up as much as you're willing to wrestle beforehand--it's a LOT easier outside the truck. I did the V6 in my first 4Runner with nearly all hard parts attached--just walk it in slowly, with a couple friends to watch the sides for obstructions.

Have the engine assembled as much as you can, it's definitely much easier to do it all while the engine is on a stand, vs in the truck.
