I think it's time to add pontoons to my sliders

With all the rain and flooding here it's either add pontoons or build an ark!

Fortunately, Everyone I know and myself are making it through with little of no personal issues. A friend had his street turn onto a river for a day and ended up with 2" of seepage in his basement. The houses on his street are all well above street level so no direct flooding. I haven't had any issues, other than not being able to find an open road to go ANYWHERE! Even my sump pit is bone dry.

As of Thursday eve, the reports say if it were snow it would be 100"-150". We've received a full yr or rain in less than 1wk.

My prayers for those directly affected!!!

Where are you at, Grant? Down here in the Springs it's been pretty bananas as well, roads are closed everywhere. Back east this wouldn't have caused anything but some extra traffic. It's new to me being in a place that's not exactly equipped to deal with it

I'm in Boulder. Wed/Thru/Fri you couldn't go but a few blocks without hitting a closed/washed out road.

It's not just that we're not used to this amount of rain, it's that it turns streets into rapids that sweep along small boulders, trees, cars, causes mud slides and washes out the roads. There have been several smaller dams that have breached adding the water they were holding to the mess. There are small towns in the county that are cut off with the only way in or out being a helicopter.

Rain....Rain....Rain

On this topic.... we too had a lot of rain in WNC (Western North Carolina). In fact USA today about two weeks ago said that parts of WNC are the wettest in the US (yes wetter than Hawaii) this is due to a VERY HIGH accumulation of rain this summer. We've had roads, bridges and highways close to the excessive moisture, landslides, and roads literally just washing away. Where the farm is near Bat Cave, NC we had a total accumulation of 115" this year. Been a NIGHTMARE. The beauty of this is they have related it to GLobal Warming. Well done folks, good job!

Anyways sorry to hear you're getting this "abnormal weather pattern" in CO. I cant even think the last time I remember it raining in Colorado.

This rain is pretty crazy. I have some friends that are under mandatory evacuations and we are hoping that the waters don't rise any more. Its fortunate that I live on a large hill, but many are not so lucky. WTF, the one year that half the state is not on fire, it just floods instead. Hoping all my fellow Colorado 4R people stay dry

Wow, just saw pics online. We had a flood here 2 months ago (largest ever in Toronto) and we had about half that rain.. I can only imagine double that.

It's been raining a hell of a lot here on the western slope, but nothing like the pictures from the front range.
Went down Kane Creek road toady from Moab, the two water crossings were much higher than usual, and much faster water. On the way back, didn't notice that they seemed to rise even more, until the bow wave was about the height of the hood. I hope all of the 2 wheel guys made it across.
