About how much should it cost to paint a hood? I have got some quotes for $250 to $800.

I've gotten two quotes so far to paint the hood (non-pearl white), 500 and 600. I'm going to shop around a bit more yet. I've seen some other owners who bought the sport hood prepainted for closer to 2-300 above the cost of the hood from their seller.

My hood came with the e coat primer that should be sanded, sealed and painted for best results

So far...

I was mobilized so this project was put on hold for a little while. So far the parts for the job are around $330 with me planning to reuse hood latch, seals, washer squirters, etc. Still needs paint...

I bought my hood primered just like the one in your photo for $56 from Certifit

The insert, though, was $175.

This is about right. I spent more on the insert and related items then the hood itself.

Finally done!

Well, 5 quotes and $300 later I had the hood painted and installed. 3 quotes for $500 one for 450 and the winner for $303. Nobody would even touch it during the winter bump season, and I thought about doing it myself ( I have access to a paint booth, would have needed to buy a gun) but it would have cost me in time and materials At least $300.

It looks great and I'm glad to have the hood out of the garage. arty:

It was fun little project that drained all my donut money, but I like the look of the sport hood and keep my cars for a looong time!
