I tow almost 2 or 3 times a week. ? for all

Hello,

Im new to t4r, but I have some q's. I tow my boat almost every weekend or a few times a week. I own a 2006 4runner xsp v8 with the big tow package. Should I be aware of anything more when it comes to sch maint, the tranny fuild, etc etc. I tow with auto lsd on(button on dash). The boat i tow is a nitro bass boat total weight is 2000lbs

Change the tranny fluid a little more frequently than scheduled and you should have no problems. It's not a lot of weight and boats are an easy tow.

If you find the rear axle in the water a lot during launch etc you may want to think about doing the rear diff breather mod which will protect your diff from getting water in it. Do a search for more info, lots have done it.

2000 pounds to the neighborhood ramp is nothing. I would just make sure I follow the recommended intervals.

I also tow a bass boat around the same weight as yours. Not really much of a strain on the drive train. The regular scheduled maintenance will probably be just fine for you. Just look at the tranny fluid when you change it for any discoloration.

On a bass boat if you have the rear axle of your 4Runner in the water, you ain't doing something right! About the time you have the tops of the trailer wheels submerged the boat is floating!

I currently tow a Nitro with my '08 V6 4.0L since day 1 and I'm at 31,000 miles. I tow about twice a week (about 1 hour 1 way to my local holes) plus I've hauled it from KY to Chicago and Chicago to Mississippi. No sweat.

I towed this boat, a heavier bass boat and a 3000# camper with my '00 3rd gen V6 3.4L. Less power, no sweat and ran great when I sold it with 152,000 miles for the '08.

I towed that heavier boat and the camper with a '90 2nd gen V6 3.0L (affectionately referred to as the "3.slow") and sold that to a buddy with 205,000 miles. Of course, with that T4R you didn't want to be stuck behind me ascending long grades.

Other than fluid changes at between 30,000 - 60,000 miles I never did much anything else.
