I was bored, so I started painting...

I decided to get rid of my aftermarket headlights (had a lot of issues with the bulbs burning out). So I threw my stocks in the oven and started painting them. Also, I've been wanting to black out the front of my Runner for sometime and figured now was the time to do it. The stock bull bar and plastic fascia were both silver. Let me know what ya think!! OOOOOOOOh, I see your license plate in your last picture!!!!!!

I wonder if that is legal because the light assemblies are DOT approved and you have modified them. Probably not a huge risk, but I am sure if you were ever in an accident one of those loud mouthed "you don't get paid unless I win your case" sleaze balls would be all over that. Or if you get pulled over by the gung-ho Barney Fife they could write you a ticket.

I've always been a huge fan of the blacked out headlight housings. I still need to tackle it on my T4R, though...

Guess it depends on the quality of the headlights. I had nothing but problems with the ones I had. Plus you get better vision with your stock ones. And its easier to install HIDs with stock headlights, (so I've heard)
Wish I would of saved the money and did this first lol.

I think the aftermarket headlights look better personally, but if the stock ones are brighter that's what I would go with.

The painting definitely looks better! did you use plasti-dip?

I actually heated those up and opens them lol
They are one piece, no way of spraying them.


No, didn't use Plasti-Dip. Used a high heat sprY for the headlights and Berliner spray for the bar (same thing on my wheels)

I like the look of the aftermarket headlights better too, but the blacked out ones look good too. I had those Halo headlights on my old truck and those projectors outperformed the stock headlights by a mile IMO. This was especially true after I installed HIDs. Overall though, truck looks great!

Yeah, I like the look of the aftermarket ones better as well. Just had too many problems with them, had to swap them out.
