I was going to leave it stock this time build thread

I almost went with that option. Definitely would love to hear how they Do after you put then through the motions.

I think the combo works well together. With no extra weight it rides well and with 300# it rides even better. As far as articulation I don't have anything to compare to. The Bilstein is billed as a soft ride and I think that is accurate. A stiffer valving might be perfect but, now I'm splitting hairs. All the shock options are give and take. I will likely stay with what I have until I max out the application or becomes problematic. Not having to mess with the top shock mounts again is worth the penalty(if there is one) of running the 5125 option with this kit. I am very impressed with the shock mount Toytec built to covert the application and I'm not convinced outboard mounting geometry makes good sense for articulation. It can handle anything I throw at it so far and will likely suit me until I get bored.

i just ordered my kit!!! boss kit with 600lb fronts, and superflex rears with long travel bilsteins. I might end up doing a build thread later on and post some pictures. I'm pretty pumped!!! your thread really helped a lot in my decision, so thanks!

 Hell yeah bro!!! now just because i made this mistake already but the rear coils are marked 024RCBR and 024RCBL. the one with the R is the Passenger and L is the Driver.

did you get the extended brake lines as well?

Ok so i finally got some time in driving my rig and I had to drive it back from Idaho and honestly it rides super awesome. I will be tuning my coilover tonight and switching the rear springs to the correct place but other than that is an amazing ride thus far :) I havent got to load it up yet but i will be adding a rear bumper w/ swing gate and a 33 in tire here next month. so that will help a little. Oh yeah i also ran it without the swaybars and it actually road really really nicely :)

Thanks for the heads up. I know they mentioned there was a difference but i wasn't sure how they were marked.

I did get the extended rear brake lines. If I had gone with the regular travel Bilsteins I might have thought twice about it, but with the extended travel I figured better safe than sorry.

FedEx tracking has it all arriving next Thursday!!! :whoo:

I really enjoyed following your thread. And what do you know, while we were out riding our bikes this morning around the Newport/Bellevue area, I saw a 4Runner just exactly like yours. I tried to remember the plate # so I can check this thread when I get home, lo and behold, it's your truck! All and shiny and clean on your driveway!
I would love to hook up sometime to get more information about the mods you did on your truck and your experience on the install of the Toytec BOSS coilovers. I decided i will be installing the exact same thing on my '99 T4R. Did you do it yourself? Do you know of a shop that do lifts here in the Seattle/Bellevue area? I would be interest in some Seattle area T4R meet to talk about mods and some wheeling.

ok so the divers is 02RCBL and pass is 024 RCBR

I have to use a space for body lean on mine but other than that it is great!!! :)

Hey Ed,

Small world! Feel free to give me a call I will shoot you my number in a pm. I would be willing to help you do the install really not that tough and it will give you a good understanding of your vehicle. We could get it done in a few hours. J

All this talk about the l/r springs I could not remember if I had checked to see that I put in the right sides! Out laying in my drive and what do you know they are in the right spots. Memory is going. With a full tank of fuel still looks like it has a very slight lean. Most likely after a bit I will measure and adjust again. I think the front being a bit high on one side will have the same effect on the lean.

Yeah it will but you also have to figure out if it is lean cause by the coils or from a coil over not being preloaded enough or too much. The easiest way I figured out to do it is to jack up the front in the middle and then measure the rear and vice versa for the front. I will be having to use a trim packer to fix my lean as it is off by about an inch which equates to a half in on the body.

I used a bottle jack, and jacked up the rear drivers side off the LCA up about 10 mm an it brought the ride to almost completely level. Just what I have noticed with mine.

What are your guys hub to fender measurements?

New FN Wheels with the Duratrac load range c for lighter weight

I am going to DT this afternoon to get the same tires mounted up! i had been thinking of doing the 285, but seeing the 265 on yours i think they look great and i didn't want the extra weight and stiffness. the duratrac in 32" in C weighs less than my current 265/70/16. thanks for posting this build thread! it really helped me with my decision making process!

would you mind posting the front measurements now that you lowered the coils?? i'm having a vibration problem around 55mph... i tried lowering the front a little but still didn't help... i'm trying to figure out how much lower i might possibly have to go, but i don't want to go so low that it starts to nose dive while i'm braking. much appreciated!
