What do you need to tap into the Intake Air Temperature sensor for?

I wanted to tap into the sensor with a performance module.

Trying to figure out exactly which two that would be on the MAF

What kind of performance module needs you to tap into the wiring at the sensor? Aren't most of them either piggy back units that wire in between the ECM and ECM Connectors and/or via OBDII plug (where it could get that data from.)

You bought a 4Runner, not a Honda Civic . Leave the ecu alone. A few Toyota engineers spent awile developing it.


In a few weeks I foresee a "can't figure out why the dealer voided my warranty and I'm stuck on the side of the road with electrical problems" post.

Probably a variable resistor... Allows you to trick the ECU into thinking the IATs are lower and therefore run more aggressive timing.

The IAT typically has little impact beyond timing when out of speed density mode.

I would not mess with it.
