Ice Skating 4Runner

or not.....So this is my first winter with my 4Runner and I have read on here how unstoppable they are in the snow trails, etc. Every street here is a skating rink tonight and I just wanted to see how it would do. So I just got back from driving around the neighborhood and I LOVE IT!!! I stopped on the steepest hill only to ask a Jeep GC driver if they needed some help, of course his ego said no, and told me good luck taking off without getting stuck. He was spinning 4 wheels, while mine slipped a little bit then ATRAC kicked in and I left him sitting there spinning. I wish I could have seen the look on his face.
Sorry to ramble, but just had to share and gloat!

That rocks. Ive been doing the same out here in colorado. I found the steepest hill i could with 3 inches of fresh powder and climbed t no problem. I love my truck!

It all depends on the tires and the driver. My old GC did just as good or better than the 4runner in snow/ice but I had good snow tires and knew how to drive. It was a piece of junk other than that though and inferior to the Runner in almost every aspect.

all 4th gen 4wd runners have it.

I was under the impression that it was just called TRAC in the 4th Gen. I don't see any ATRAC buttons or even lights in my 4th Gen like I do in my 5th Gen.

I did some digging around and found out I guess they do consider the 4th Gen system ATRAC, but I read it wasn't as aggressive as the 5th Gen or FJ.

Either way, I do prefer the full-time 4WD in my 4th Gen for winter driving.

ps - be careful out there. Ice doesn't care if you have 4WD.
