Icon Delta Joint UCA - any known problems?

I’m in the market for new UCA and it seems like the new Delta Joint seems like the best of both worlds, between a Uni-ball and ball joint.

I guess they’re relatively new though - have there been any durability concerns? Are they more difficult to grease? Any cons at all?

My second choice right now is Total Chaos and I understand they may sometimes require maintenance. But I think where I live in Sacramento where it rarely rains it might be OK

I can't attest to the reliability of them, but they're easy to maintain (greasing). I've had them on for 3k miles, so I've greased them once since installing. Really straight forward.

I got decent caster, but I'll try a different alignment shop when I go to larger tires. The shop wasn't comfortable going to more than 3.5 despite me telling them I don't care that it's technically out of spec. They did achieve 3.5 degrees very easily and everything else was in spec though.

The fact that it's been on the market for a few years now with little to no noise (complaints) makes me pretty comfortable its acceptably reliable.

I went ICON DJ over the Total Chaos, so far so good.

Just installed mine over the weekend, and I am happy. Taking to the alignment shop tomorrow. The top things to know about these prior to buying at least for me is the maintenance schedule required and that the DJs come pre-greased.

According to Icon you must cycle the grease every 5k or earlier. You have to carry 2 different types of grease as the DJs and the fittings require different grease. This is pretty common though, as even with uniballs you don't put a non-Teflon grease on the uniballs. But for the DJs Icon recommends a Moly-fortified multi-purpose grease. For most this means carrying 2 grease guns.
