Ideas for cheap mods???

So I picked this up about 2 months ago with 177,xxx miles and it hasn't been a bad car so far. Only problem is the valve cover gasket. I'm don't think I'm going to have it for too long, but I want to make it enjoyable for the time being. It needs new tires so I'm looking for a tire/wheel combo and I hopefully find a set of black rims with the chrome linings. Otherwise I would gladly take any advice for performance mods or visual mods! Please keep it cheap though!

I've been raised where a truck has a bed and a car doesn't. Everything I had before this was considered a truck to me so an enclosed area s a car. So I still see a 4runner as a car haha

Body on frame, live rear axle, four wheel drive - that's a funny lookin' car.

Free 'mods':
1) Remove the running boards.. it'll look like your car had an instant 2" lift! No kidding!

Cheap mods:
1) Install a lift kit.. if you use OEM Land Cruiser 80 front springs to lift your rears, it'll be cheaper.
2) Install wheel spacers (e.g. Spidertrax) to keep things looking aggressive!

Well I'm 19 too and on a budget so this is what I've done on it so far, if you're curious:

1) Front bumper sprayed with Rustoleum bedliner (with Plasti-dip undercoating so it will be easily removable later on),

I bought a set of LJ80 coils for the lift, now I'm still looking for shocks, front spacer and wheel spacers.

I've spent about a 1000 on the 4Runner alone and it has been just for maintenance and repairs as mine has 250k on the clock! So if you haven't done work on it yet, I'd say better get to it fast before your car bites the dust!

Thanks! I was looking into taking the running boards off and I think I'll do it and as far as the wheel spacers go.... I didn't think about that haha. That would make it look pretty mean

I really like my LED dome lights, ect. A ton brighter. You can do the ISR/deck plate. There is contradicting articles whether it works or not but it's became pretty popular.

Looks like any mods to the 4runner are going to be cut for a while...new truck, but I think I'll keep the 4runner as a run around rig.
