Agreed. Oil leaks generally flow down, not up. Look at the highest place on the engine where the oil is, and you should find your leak. Additionally, if that were the source of the leak, the threads wouldn't be shiny.that missing bolt doesn't have anything to do with your oil leak.
Actually I just stuck a long skewer into the hole and it went all the way down into the deep abyss. The wet spots on the rubber pipe right above the hole makes it look very much like it came from the hole.

If you put your finger over it while the truck is idling, do you feel it pulling vacuum (or sucking down) on your finger? If yes, then it is open to the valve cover. If not, then you just found out you have a magic skewer. :biggrin2:

yes it came out covered in oil, clean oil. i want to go to a toyota dealer & rip apart their trucks to match it up
