idle and stalling issues

Hello, hoping to get some help with my 01 4runner sr5. First off, it no longer has a warm up idle, when I start it cold it automatically idles at around 500rpm not at around 1400 and slowly goes down after warmed up. Secondly, motor will shut off shortly after driving and won't start back up until put back in drive. And lastly once in awhile my check engine light will come in and throw the code for faulty IAC, which it think was p0505. It'll go away after driving it for a little bit. I've checked the threads and it seems like it could be the IAC but I just want to make sure before spending $$$ to fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Buy an IAC, be gentle installing it. If not, try to return in. If It's throwing an IAC code then that is where I would start.

I've read that the IAC is built into 01's throttlebody, does that mean I have to buy a whole new TB?

Probably. Grab one at a junkyard or google testing procedures for it.

Just guessing here, check for slack in the throttle cable.

you could try cleaning the IAC first
