Idle is too high, help

I replaced the IACV already, and it did not help it. When I manually close the throttle on the throttle body, the idle will go down to 800. It is idling anywhere from 1500-2000RPM's right now. I tried adjusting it a few things, but it won't get to the point where it automatically closes.

People have had warped throttle plates before that have caused this issue, I don't think it's very common but it could be your problem.

Check carefully for vacuum leaks. Especially check the vac hose to the round throttle opener thingy on the throttle body. See if that hose HAS vacuum, and that it is tight on the nipple (giggety). The idle should increase when you remove that hose, and go back down when it is replaced.

I had these exact symptoms and my problem was this hose was just resting on the nipple and had not been PUSHED back on. Fault of the dumb bunny who changed the plugs a few weeks earlier. Guess who that was?

Don't forget to check the tightness of the intake itself--those big clamps.
