If some offered you $(Blank) Would you sell it?

I've always thought about this. I had a buddy that had a 97 4runner with 200K on the clock. One day some random guy game up to him and offered $8000 for his truck. He of course took it.

Most of us are obviously very passionate about our rigs. I for one don't think i'd let it go for $8000 unless i was in dire need of money.

Think about it though, if some rich guy came up to you one day because he loves the look of your rig and offered you a ton money, how much would it take for you to say ok?

I guess it's kind of silly fantasy of mine but there are some deep pockets out there, and some of them probably want some instant gratification instead of building their own rig. On top of that there are a lot of gorgeous rigs on here that i'm sure get lusted after haha

I know it will prob never happen but I think my magic number would be around $25K hehe

NO Way!! Couldn't do it. It would to sooo long to find a nice unmolested 4wd, start all over making it yours again, then go through weeks of regular maintenance cause IMO you can't trust anyone when they tell you how often they changed the oil or fluids or belts. I think most people who drive these don't even know what Diff fluid even is! LOL.

i got mine for 6k an added around 4-5k on it so if someone came n offer me 10-11k il proly let it go even tho i love my rig i would sell it n get a bone stock one n put the rest of the money on a SAS :lol:

I've easily invested around 13k in mine, bought it for 8.5k. Including depreciating value + everything I've done.. somewhere around 18k just to get all my money back. I know that will never happen though.

Honestly, if someone for real offered me $1450 for it right now, I'd might consider selling it.

Guy offered me $10,000 for mine in DC last year while I was at a gas station. I said no thanks, since I had put in a lot of wrench time in it and the last payment I made on it was before Bush left office.

Honestly, I can't justify selling it at any cost. There really isn't that many autos out there that top the third gen 4runner IMHO.

If I could find a Lexus GX or LX 470 (or Landcrusier) for low miles and not much money to get into, then I might change my tune. Maybe even a 4th gen 4wd with the V8 despite its shortcomings. But I am not holding my breath for such to happen soon.

This is how I got my 4r. Went to test drive a Tundra at carmax and they made me an offer on my accord which I sold and put me above what I owed and cash in my pocket.

Lol. You could probably get pretty close to that up here. My number would be so ridiculous. $25k. A little over a year ago I had someone offer me $17k. I don't know how serious they were.

I love my 4runner, but 10k would take it. Although I probably won't sell right now because I'd want to DC Tacoma, 4th Gen or DC Tundra (00-06) instead and those are more than 10k. If I had some extra cash to add on top I'd jump at it in a heartbeat.

I feel the same way, even if i became quite wealthy I'm not sure i could get rid of the 4runner. If someone offered me $25K I don't know if i could do it. It's kinda funny how attached some of us are lol.

As it sits I would probably take 4k, but in 10 years after I have replaced everything except the body and wire harness with new/upgrade parts, I don't think I could let it go for any price. I have resolved to keep this 4Runner at all costs, even if it means parking for a while because something major like an engine over-haul needs to be done. I plan to build my Runner like an old school hot rod. Tasteful, functional mods, clean up/smooth over the general look of the truck, and a rock solid foundation that will last a lifetime.

i would not take anything less than 15k for my truck i love it way too much... will probably never sell it just keep it till its beat up enough to be a trail only rig!!!
