Yeah, that is the problem, if the volume went down really fast it wouldn't matter but it is so slow that I just reach over and use the knob. I only use the steering wheel controls for adjustments. But when my phone rings or I come to a toll booth I wish I had a mute button.

Window/Moonroof/Rear Window buttons
Would like to have the moonroof & rear-window buttons on the steering..
Dont know how practical it would be for the window buttons to be on the steering, but dont want to bend down and do a strech to reach the freaking buttons everytime i need to open a window!

funny you should mention that...I'm in the design stages of a mixer for the various ham radios in my vehicle (and was gonna include the output from the nav unit's voice output since I have the solara one) into one speaker. some features I was gonna have:
- variable volume on each input
- led signal indicator on each input
- individual mutes for each input
- an factory stereo mute override, such that when audio is detected on an incoming input, the cd/radio/head unit, is muted.
- and some other stuff that I can't think of at the moment.
the amp has a 'mute' input, I haven't gone so far as to play with it yet, but I imagine that it can easily be used. of course, I have so many other projects started and what I have in the truck works fine right now, it may be quite some time before I get to anything like this, but...hey...it's an idea all the same.

Edit: to clarify, I mean into one external speaker/amp that is NOT part of the existing stereo system. just to avoid confusion.

A lot of things can be upgraded with mods or changed with aftermarket parts (and $$$) but I don't think I can change this:
I'd like a cruise control that can resume rather than dumping it's memory when you slow below 25 mph. It is very annoying to have to reset the speed every time coming off exit ramps (or out of toll booths or after stoplights.)

Although I'm happy with the performance of the V6, I would really like to have the 5-speed automatic (standard would be even better) that comes with the V8. I think the "pulling power" would be even better if 1st gear of the 5-speed would be "lower" (higher ratio) than the 4-speed, and for better mileage, 5th gear would be a little "higher" (lower ratio) than the 4-speed.

2. A five speed standard, or the five speed auto for my V6 if it comes with part time 4wd.
3. Be able to raise the rear window from the outside.
4. Bring back the heated side view mirrors as standard equipment.
5. More range of height adjustment on seats.
6. Less power, so I wouldn't be tempted to embarass all those other less fortunate vehicles so often.......Just kiddn':

More vertical room in the cabin. A few inches will improve the headroom, and also actually give it space under the front seats for passngers feet to go under the seat. This will drastically increase cabin space and make it feel like a full size SUV.
The one thing I would change seems like such a simple thing but god it drives me CRAZY!!!...set it so that the air recycle button remembers what you last set it at.
During the summer I always set the temp to LO and the damn recyle button turns on. I can turn it off but the next time I start the car it goes back to ON. So now during the summer every time I turn on the car I have to remember to turn that button off or I'll be blasted with hot recycled air.
What was Toyota thinking?
