Nearly imported a forest green one with beige interior 15 years ago that needed some TLC, but the British mechanic that did a thorough check on the engine for me recommended against it. Wouldn't spend the money on it these days, with other priorities.

You are not wrong, and not a lot I modern cars I would consider owning these days without some type of extended warranty coverage. You figure if one can afford to drop coin on a 200-250k car or truck, one can likely afford to maintain it properly.

For us peasants driving Toyotas, it’s pretty easy to cringe at the cost of maintenance, including a simple oil change.

I bought a new '70 Javelin/Mark Donahue signature upon graduation from college. Didn't know much about cars so I learned on it ... that was a shame!
In retrospect I wish I'd have gone with the AMX/390!
