I'm no fan of Trump. I could stomach him over Hilary for sure, but I can't stand him either.

I am also a Libertarian, a conservative leaning anarcho-capitalist libertarian.

I'm not certain who he would pick from his list, but there are some good ones on there for sure, a few far right leaning justices, but most are moderate/conservatives.

His SCOTUS pick would likely be conservative leaning, but more moderate than than anyone Hillary would nominate, I would like to see a true Constitutionalist in every justices seat in SCOTUS. But I would gladly settle for a moderate/conservative justice over a super left leaning anti gun progressive liberal justice any day of the week.

Hilary WILL appoint a justice to SCOTUS that is absolutely anti gun and as FAR to the left as she can get. Something that is not acceptable.

Here's Trumps List:
Diane Sykes, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit
Raymond Gruender, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit
Steven Colloton, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit
Raymond Kethledge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit
Thomas Hardiman, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit
William Pryor, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit
Thomas Lee, Utah Supreme Court
Allison Eid, Colorado Supreme Court
Joan Larsen, Michigan Supreme Court
David Straus, Minnesota Supreme Court
Don Willet, Texas Supreme Court

Most on the list are moderate/conservatives with a few being far right conservative.

Hillary won't say who she would pick.

Hillary WILL pick an ANTI-GUN justice. Absolutely no doubt in my mind. She hates guns, unless they are the ones her body guards use to protect her and her family...

You want to see the nation go sideways and fast- just watch what happens if an anti-gun SCOTUS makes some ridiculous rulings about firearms and shreds the BOR. If they go too far they could potentially light this place on fire. Things will get messy...

Well good thing we don't have a gun violence issue in America...

In my educated opinion, we as voters are stuck with 2 stupid candidates. Is this really the best the country has to offer as potential leaders of the free world? Yikes!

:ybrick:

Thats exactly what she was trying to do. The entire point she was trying to make....

Her relatively modest salary does, sure. I thought the rest came from foreign donors??

So again. Change it is exactly the point she was making. Trump is advocating further tax cuts.

so she was trying to say SHE has been exploiting the law and the taxpayers, as a government employee, by saying that trump, a private citizen was doing it?

speaking of her modest salary. how much does she make, and what is she worth now?
its been reported they were broke when they left the WH. where DID all that money come from?

tax cuts are exactly what this country needs. specifically for businesses. without businesses, there are no jobs.

my GF's dad owns a golf course. its unbelievable the amount of taxes they have to pay just to operate. they could hire more people, and pay higher wages if they weren't paying out the ass in taxes.

because of excess taxes, businesses are shutting down, or moving production out of the country. this is BAD for everyone involved.

has been audited every year. or so I read. they find nothing, yet continue..

yes, the system is rigged. she benefits from it as much, if not more than he does. yet, will she ever admit to, or bring attention to that? doubtful.
with her, its even worse, as her income comes directly from the tax .

I am just curious if you have a source for your highlighted comments mainly about them (IRS) finding nothing? Given his real estate dealings (the type of business he is in) and the expenses & write offs/loss carry forwards, etc. that he is taking with the amount of income he is declaring annually to get him to zero fed tax, I would expect that he will always be audited and hope that is the case especially if he pays no fed tax.

I would also mention that you as a citizen of the USA have no idea if Trump is beholden to say Russia for his debts without his actual tax returns. He is already absorbing major campaign funding by 'renting" his "space" to the campaign, which means some of your money is going directly into his pockets. What makes you think that he would not benefit directly from national infrastructure rebuilding and inside knowledge of zoning changes , etc.. he has already admitted that he will use every advantage given to him to enrich himself.

I would say you share the same risk(s) with Trump (re-)negotiating international deals and his inability to "not take the bait" can lead the USA into much worse situations globally, maybe even war.

Typically when you are audited and the IRS finds something they act on it. I have been audited and over paid my taxes. They sent me a check. Wesley Snipes and Willie Nelson didn't pay taxes and it made national headlines. Willie was able to sell off enough assets to avoid prison. The same can't be said for snipes. So when a big name person gets in trouble with the IRS I don't think it would get ignored by the press.

You'll have to forgive our friends to the north when it comes to a lack of tax knowledge.

You see, up there, ALL their income goes to the tax man so there's no complications with underpaying your taxes as their can be in the US.

I dont think she was claiming anything about herself. YOU were the one that made that assertion. An assertion you haven't backed up with anything yet by the way.

What are you saying here? are you trying to imply she has been embezzling? Any facts to back that up? If you really want to know where her money came from you can check out her tax returns as she has released them.

Ugh, we just went over this. Some of the biggest profit earning businesses aren't paying any taxes

This one is much more complicated.
Businesses aren't so much moving because they can't afford to operate. They are moving because other countries are undercutting America's tax rates and those that choose to operate legitimately (without exploiting foreign tax loopholes and off shore bank accounts) can't compete with their costs. Your GF's dad is probably losing to guys who are exploiting the system and thus able to undercut his costs.

Closing tax loopholes, among other things, will force some of the biggest earners to take on their share of the tax burden instead of it being passed along to smaller businesses and working class people. Simply lowering taxes without fixing the problem will simply result in less revenue and a greater deficit.

Yet meanwhile corporations who make billions pay less in taxes or push operations overseas to places like Ireland to avoid paying taxes? Doesn't make sense, and voting Republican doesn't either.

You can't ***** about a small business paying high taxes without wanting corporations to pay the same or higher in taxes. Its all RIGGED.

Agreed, yet they get SOMETHING in return...free healthcare coverage, lower college costs, etc....

I've actually run soft scenarios and I don't think it's really all that cheaper to live in the US unless you have a substantial income (your top rates are deifnitely a bit lower). The social security tax burden is very high stateside not to mention health insurance premiums. Also, I have found property taxes to be high in many areas. Overall, I think it's a wash for many people. The US is the place to be if you are rich. If you are anything less, I think canada is just as appealing.
According to OECD our tax burden is essentially the same as the US:

Wait in line 15 months for a hip replacement then we'll see how many stars you give 'em on your Yelp review.
Non critical procedures can involve waits but if you NEED care you get it immediately.
Well stated, and as someone who grew up in a country with socialized medicine, I have seen this first hand, and it isn't pretty.
Was this country Canada?

And then there's the continuous whining from one level of government to another for more money...there's an additional class of politician/lobbyist that spends its time begging for more money.

They have really perfected the art form up there where 99% of a politician's time in spent convincing the public that things would be better if only they could get money for some other bigger pocket.

The US faces the same demographic challenge and will simply be met with higher health insurance premiums for individuals. Whether it's government spending or insurance premiums... the baby boomers are a big cohort and people are going to have to pony up.

and if you want to talk government spending... doesn't your federal government have you about 3x deeper in debt than I am? Lol

Yet trump gave his tax plan and it was to give all business's a 15% tax rate. That's lower than what the rich companies should pay, but don't, now. This should and I say should encourage them to move their majority holdings back home (here). This would put them back in to the tax system here. Sure they won't be paying the current 27.9% (30% round numbers) but I will take 15% of their actual numbers before I take 30% of nothing. Also by helping small business lower their tax rate from 30% to 15% it helps us reinvest in to our business or pay ourselves a bit more. Maybe that vacation just became possible. Or maybe it goes to a kids tuition fund. But bottom line is it stays with the business that earned it for them to spend. Before you say something just remember when I/we small business owners decide to pay ourselves that money or spend it on the business there is sales tax or income tax out of that as well. So it's not like your taking money from the government. Your just letting us get more stuff with our money.

This tax lowering should brogan our tax base by pulling big money corporations back in to America. That's an extra 150,000,000 for every billion dollars of profit these companies make. That's very very big money.

Hillary like Bernie wants to raise the taxes on the big corporations and rich individuals. The big corporations and rich individuals will just leave us completely if it gets to bad.
Side note when Bernie came out with his plan of taxing the rich someone did the math. It was something like this. If you tax every millionaire and above 100% of their annual income it wouldn't be enough to even pay the interest on our debt. The solution is unknown, but narrowing the tax base probably isn't it. Broadening the tax base seems like a better option. As a small business owner I can tell you with an extra 15% of my yearly profits in the account I can upgrade tools and become more efficient then this would allow me to grow bigger and possibly even offer to give another person a job. Thus creating a job that someone can pay their bills on not just scrape by. Teaching someone a real life skill that they in turn can start their own business. Not wrapping burgers or greeting people at Walmart.

I am not going to offer any opinion but want to state a fact because the words "fair share."

Fact:
There are 540 billionaires in the United States, with a combined net worth of $2.399 trillion, according to our 2016 list of the world's richest people. That's more billionaires and more combined net worth than any other nation in the world. Mar 5, 2016

If these guys cashed out and gave every single penny of their worth it would only pay a tad more that 10% of our debt. That's everything they own. Fair share or even the lion's share is not even close to helping us out of our hole.

So when you hear our candidates continue to utter the words "fair share" in the future you are now armed with the fact that that share won't even make a dent in our problem.

The reason they even use that misnomer is to take the focus away of the only real solution and that's to cut spending.

But certainly that fair share is more than none. Nor should it be lower than people making significantly less. Also I think you may be confusing net worth and income tax?

Sure and if I give a dollar more that's more than a nickel.

My point is they could give their whole net worth, all of them and it won't fix the problem, and that's simply spending more than we take in. If I have $100 in bills a month but I spend $110 a month it won't take long to be in the same hole the US is in.

My example shows just having more income without cutting expenses won't fix the problem. It will only kick the proverbial can down the road.
