God help us if the results of this pole is any indication of the direction this country is headed.
Hilary Cliton has selfishly devoted her life to public service.

Donald Trump appears to a hypocritic, bigoted, racist, criminal (non-profit abuse, Fraud as in the so-called Trump University, to name a couple) un-patriotic (he'd be on Mryle Haggard's fighter side for sure), egotistic Jerk. Show us the taxes!

Under the past two democratic administrations The American people and the American Economy have prospered.

Under the last two Republic administrations the economy had gone to crap, the rich got richer, and we suffered the worst attack The United States of America has ever suffered and entered into two fruitless, senseless, and un-winnable wars.
And the obstructionist Republic party of today has deeply divided and harmed America.

First there is no obligation to show your taxes to run for president. That's no different than having to show your taxes to apply for a job. Just so happens this job is an elected position. The trump charity reference I find grand as you make no mention of all the Clinton foundation scandals for people being given time with secretary Clinton and those same people make 6 figure donation before being granted time. DOJ blocking and stoping a criminal investigation in to her foundation. The same DOJ that was in charge of deciding whether or not to press charges in the email scandal.

As to un-patriotic really secretary Clinton "what difference does it make" I regards to the cause of an embassy attack or I am also not going to grant the security help requested by the embassy.

Trump may be a jerk but Clinton is nothing more than a grifter using anything she can to get paid. Uses her foundation for payment and a travel slush fund not caring who gives her money. Saying she is an important representative for women and minorities and the LGBTQ community. But she takes millions upon millions of dollars from countries that say women don't have a right to drive or go to school can't leave their house in some cases without a male realities escort. They throw gays and lesbians from rooftops after gathering a big enough crowd of witnesses. But she's on "their" side?

I am not going to argue about the state of the economy as we will never agree on it. But at least call it even between the candidates. It's the honest thing to do.

You don't see what's wrong with your usage of it?
They do not have a legal right to take taxes. They are granted the permission to enforce a lawfully passed tax. This permission is granted by the people via their elected representatives.

Congress by the 16th amendment has authority to charge a federal income tax only. No other taxes may be assessed unless the bill originated in the House of Representatives. If they jack up the income tax too high we can vote new people in. Taking someone's money is about the only way to get their attention nowadays. So you will notice that the use kid gloves when discussing personal income tax. But those "evil" corporations nobody cares about so they threaten to tax them in to oblivion. But this would still take a legally proposed tax bill based by congress and signed by the president.

Funny how when I posted data to backup my point about taxes being historically low, and also highlighting the fact that higher taxes haven't historically been associated with slowing growth we seem to have ignored it and moved the bar to whether or not taxes are legal. As if that was the issue at hand.

So how is that connected to what I said?

Or did you just want to call someone an idiot? I have heard it said that personal insults are a way to make the insulter feel better about ones self. Just a theory though.

This will make nary a difference to his "supporters", he will get a total pass on everything that they would chastise Clinton for. I think we merely need to accept this and move on. This is what can make an Authoritarian (big word for a tyrant).

Interesting video. Some it is relevant and some of it definitely appears to be dated. But it's funny how the press is giving Hillary a pass on similar issues from gay marriage to now refugees

The press isn't really the press anymore. They are giving both of them passes. She criticized him for his charity but hers is riddled with problems as well. Bill Clinton chastised trump for saying make America great again is "racist" yet that was one of his own slogans. The are calling trump misogynistic for making fun of a girl that gained weight but Hillary called the victims of her husbands sexual abuse hussies and they deserved it.
It's going both ways right now with the press shielding Clinton a bit more than Trump.

No, he called what you said idiotic. Big difference. If he had called you an idiot he would be gone.

So who makes the idiotic statements. Idiots? Or?

If a smart person makes an idiotic statement they are being an ???

Everyone makes stupid statements every now and then. Everyone of course is not stupid. I'm not judging your previous post in question either.

If everyone would judge or question the words instead of the person uttering or typing the word then it would be a much more civil discussion.

I have had many dumb ideas and said stupid things in my life. I don't think anyone thinks I am dumb or stupid. The problem is people can't control their emotions long enough to figure this out. It's like people sit around and just wait for the slightest mistake or even perceived mistake and they pounce!

The best thing about this? Statements can be changed, fixed and edited. People usually can't.

Talk about a loaded question. What's your point?
huh? its a yes or no question.

That's a fundamental question. Yes or no. No qualifiers.
exactly.

It's a silly question. Is the government entitled to it? Meaning having legal authority to collect taxes. Yes.

I don't see how its a silly question. thanks for finally answering. thought that wasn't exactly THE question I asked.
it explains things a bit.

im curious is that is an isolated stance, or is that what most Canadians believe? if so, that would definitely speak to the difference in our cultures, and explain how some of the things that work up there(gun restrictions?), would not ever work down here.

for we do not believe the answer to that question to be yes, but instead a resounding NO.

Canada has always been a country where when a problem arises, people first look to the government rather than themselves for a solution.

In a way, it's a country founded by tax collectors and bureaucrats. After the successful American Revolution hundreds of thousands of red coat loyalists had to quickly get out of dodge and Canada was the easiest refuge.

They have immense faith in government. Good ol' Pierre Elliot Trudeau (father of current leader who is a hack with no leadership experience) got on his knees in 1982 and kissed the queens big old ring so they could finally be "granted" full independence.

So again I ask, WHAT IS YOUR POINT??

Are your actually going to sit here and tell me your taxes should be zero? I mean good job deflecting my point and changing the subject, but I still don't see how this relates to the issue at hand.

deflecting your point? which was what?

I was just asking you a question. you seem to have a hard time with those.

and now you are telling me what im saying/thinking?

you posted a quote from a site, part of it read,

at least relative to the average level of tax revenue the government has generated over the past 60 years

which falls inline very closely with the quote that I had pulled from a previous article I posted, and took issue with. so it got me to thinking, since you didn't seem to take issue with the bolded quote above, where you stood on the matter. so I asked you a question.

my issue with the bolded text, was the "generated" part. as if the government by taking taxes somehow believes it is actually EARNING the money.

I never said anything about my tax burden being zero. but understand this, the government is not entitled to a single penny of my money, that I do allow it to have. it is MY money FIRST. you seem to believe it is theirs first, and then to be redistributed back to society.

you have proven our cultures ARE different, at least in this regard.

now I ask, why cant you admit they could be different in regards to guns and gun laws as well?

You'll have to forgive our northern friend's testiness.

Their version of Walter Cronkite is retiring and the whole country is in mourning.

He is the great voice from the government run media arm that tells them what to think and they are all a bit confused now.

I hear Pfizer has added an extra shift on the Xanax production line to try and meet the increased demand.

you seem to believe it is theirs first, and then to be redistributed back to society.

and now you are telling me what im saying/thinking?

Please note, my statement was a question to you, not telling you what you were thinking as your statement seems to be doing to me.

My point, was that tax rates are historically low and there is no evidence that higher taxes stifle economic growth. In fact, if you look at the chart I posted it would seem that the last great recession occured at around the same time as a huge tax decrease (1930's), then what is often considered America's 'golden era' during the 50's-60's had very high tax rates. The rates began to drop again around the late 70's - early 80's when a lot of ppl feel things started going downhill in America.

As to why its relevant, my question stands, what's your point? Are you trying to advocate for a particular economic policy, or just trying to further drive a wedge between our two countries and this forums members?

Brandt and Crawford cited prior research that has shown less cognitively capable people often "essentialize," or see different groups as being distinct from each other, with "clear boundaries."

"Having clear boundaries helps people feel like the opposing group is distinct and far away. That is, they won't be so much of a threat," they said.
