and now you are telling me what im saying/thinking?

Please note, my statement was a question to you, not telling you what you were thinking as your statement seems to be doing to me.

My point, was that tax rates are historically low and there is no evidence that higher taxes stifle economic growth. In fact, if you look at the chart I posted it would seem that the last great recession occured at around the same time as a huge tax decrease (1930's), then what is often considered America's 'golden era' during the 50's-60's had very high tax rates. The rates began to drop again around the late 70's - early 80's when a lot of ppl feel things started going downhill in America.

As to why its relevant, my question stands, what's your point? Are you trying to advocate for a particular economic policy, or just trying to further drive a wedge between our two countries and this forums members?

well, you did answer the question with a YES. so no, *I* am not telling you what you are thinking. you did a fine job of that yourself.

how was your statement to me a question? is that a Canadian thing? how is anyone supposed to know what you are talking about, or what point you are trying to convey?

Because I ended the sentence with a question mark. Hence a question.

Between this and debating over the definition of entitled you guys have done a fine job of derailing the debate.

Also, I notice even when I clearly state my point, you seem to ignore it and continue with petty nonsense. Props on managing to find a way to skirt moderation by disguising your personal attacks as attacks on all Canadians. I think we all now who that's really directed at.

Typical Canadian turning a statement into a question. Like with your "eh's." You can just turn any statement around into a question.

It's cold out.

It's cold out, eh?

Done. Tired of explaining, re-explaining, spoon feeding and debating semantics. If your reading comprehension is really this poor I'm not going to continue to waste me time.

I spent last week with five of my good friends and colleagues. They all are from different parts of Canada and all are engineers. We talked politics at length one night and to a man they could care less who gets elected in the US. Their main gripe is no matter who gets elected, they have to live with the results even though they get no vote. They all voiced that US politics control their lives almost as much as their own politicians. They said that both candidates have their pros and cons and they all didn't care for either of them. Sounds like us lol. I asked them if they could, who would they vote for, Trump or Clinton. All five said they would hold their nose and vote Trump because of, right or wrong, being more friendly towards business, trade and regulation. These guys are in the mining, construction and forestry industry.

Sounds like your friends are echoing a past Canadian PM...

Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau famously said that being America's neighbour "is like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered the beast, if one can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt."

You may be surprised to know that we have both liberals AND conservatives in Canada, and as much as others in this thread would like, we dont all fall into the same grouping.

The Conservative Party is left of the democrats and the Liberal Party is just slightly right of Fidel Castro in his prime.

Let's see do we want 4 more years of being lied to. After all she has said that she will continue this form of government as it's so great.

Only quoted first part of the article as it is very long. Check it out. Watch the video. Remember Obama said they were never looking at ordinary citizens.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jun/19/barack-obama-nsa-people-emails

"Yahoo Inc last year secretly built a custom software program to search all of its customers' incoming emails for specific information provided by U.S. intelligence officials, according to people familiar with the matter.

The company complied with a classified U.S. government demand, scanning hundreds of millions of Yahoo Mail accounts at the behest of the National Security Agency or FBI, said three former employees and a fourth person apprised of the events.

Some surveillance experts said this represents the first case to surface of a U.S. Internet company agreeing to an intelligence agency's request by searching all arriving messages, as opposed to examining stored messages or scanning a small number of accounts in real time.

It is not known what information intelligence officials were looking for, only that they wanted Yahoo to search for a set of characters. That could mean a phrase in an email or an attachment, said the sources, who did not want to be identified.

Reuters was unable to determine what data Yahoo may have handed over, if any, and if intelligence officials had approached other email providers besides Yahoo with this kind of request.

According to two of the former employees, Yahoo Chief Executive Marissa Mayer's decision to obey the directive roiled some senior executives and led to the June 2015 departure of Chief Information Security Officer Alex Stamos, who now holds the top security job at Facebook Inc.

"Yahoo is a law abiding company, and complies with the laws of the United States," the company said in a brief statement in response to Reuters questions about the demand. Yahoo declined any further comment.

Through a Facebook spokesman, Stamos declined a request for an interview.

The NSA referred questions to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which declined to comment."

Why would using the industry advice of these workers be any different than using the security advice of the hen house?

Yeah, because we keep it super classy here.

Hepar I found that as soon as I got out of the Seattle eastside area and in to a small town. People are a lot more genuine. They introduce themselves by their full name. Look you in the eye and offer help if you need it. Total different experience for Bellevue Sammamish Redmond and Seattle.

Not saying we don't have "super classy" people down here as well. But I would say overall the ratio of "good" people is much better than in the Seattle eastside area, (super democrat areas).

I meant more the states in general. And fans specific.

And oddly enough, you know where I found had the most engaging people? It was when I lived in NYC.

But I largely agree with you with small town vs metropolitan.

I did not say to use or not use any advice. I merely was stating the opinion of five Canadians who are gainfully employed in a professional engineering field. My whole point being that Canadian citizens differ on their opinions just like the US. Also some Canadian citizens are frustrated that they have no vote yet have to live with the choices of American voters. That's all. Do not read anything else into it. There is no ulterior motive other than to inform. Really.
