Not my 16 yet, but my early 2010 had a problem with the inflating lumbar support being kind of squeaky sounding/feeling. There was a TSB for it at the time and it was replaced under warranty.
 
Despite the temptation to go without seats, my seats have not malfunctioned. They still kinda cradle my rear end and support my back. I even have been known on occasion to lean by head back against the headrest. Do I find them the most comfortable seat? no. Do I find them the most uncomfortable? no. I thought I would throw two additional answers (to unasked questions) in today because I'm feeling generous.

Always going above and beyond... good work Ben lol.

Even though these polls are far from scientific, at least they will put to bed a bunch of myths.
 
Have had continual issues with my rear seats. The seat bottom has been fixed twice due to breaking clips (since been replaced and fixed under warranty). Seat back squeaks like crazy whenever someone sits in it and I go over bumps, rocky trails, freeway transition strips. Still haven't entirely been fixed but I stopped bothering and just deal with it now. It's due to the play in the latch and has been regreased/fixed/etc several times but now I just don't take passengers lol.

Other than that haven't had anything wrong that couldn't be fixed with the 4runner for as long as I've owned it.

crunchy lumbar when the weather is warm.

Luckily for me, the weather is only warm for a short while in this forsaken snowy hellscape
 
6k miles in and I had to have the dealer replace the power seat track for too much play. New track seems ok so far...minor amount of play, but that is normal I think. They've also ordered a new driver lower cushion cover due to what seems like higher than normal wear, but after three weeks it's still not in and honestly I'm a little leery of having the seat pulled out again.
 
I answered "no" but technically I did have a rattle in my 2nd row headrest. Had them look at it at a servicing. I had a box of .22LR shells dump out and apparently a few had fallen into the folded seat headrest through the gap where the rods go. My fault. Just an FYI if you have a rattle it's possible for stuff to fall into the headrest of the 2nd row.
 
I'm having a problem with the rear seat. The softex cover is separating from the frame.

Back of the driver seat is wearing out. I can feel the mechanism for lower back support popping and stuff when I squirm around in the seat. The adjustable part.
 
Yes, drivers power base chattered when moving fore/aft. Mileage - new, dealer replaced under warranty.

And I wheel my truck really hard at the mall!
 
Yes, rear seats squeaked bad when I had passengers in it. Especially noticeable when doing turns or over speed bumps. Had the dealer fix it under warranty @ 17k. If it comes back before 36K(currently 31k) they will replace with a new set of seats as written by service manager.
 
Driver seat is has a hole wear the material meets the plastic. There is some kind of metal (frame, support, springs?) that rub the material and cause a hole to form.
