Interesting idea, but don't most hail storms involve thunderstorm-level high winds? You really think a couple of old tires will be enough to keep those mattresses from blowing off?

Yeah, no hail here either, just saw this 4runner on the news and gave me a laugh. There were other vehicles with pool equipment all over the windshield and someone put a trampoline over their little tiny car. Lol I parked in my garage. (Lake Dallas)

Most southern homes don't have basements (limestone makes it crazy expensive to dig a basement here in Texas), so once the attic space is filled, the garage is usually the next to go. That leaves very little room for vehicles and as you can tell by my pict above BARELY enough room for two even when there IS room.

I managed to clean my garage out 2 weeks before taking delivery of my new T4RTE in Feb after leaving my previous ride out on the curb for over 12 years without a single dent from hail. Since taking delivery, we've already had two destructive hail storms hit my area this month, so the effort to get both vehicles in the garage was worth it.

A garage doesn't help much if you're at work. Last serious hail storm my vehicle was in came out minus side mirrors (never found them). Windshield was destroyed; not to mention the 600 some dents.The dry ice trick fixed all but 50 or so!

Dry Ice is VERY cold. Rub it on a dent and many times POP! The dent pulls out.

In my house in SC, they decided to place the hot water heater in the corner of the garage. It's frustrating b/c the concrete post protecting the hot water heater limits what size vehicles you can park on that side of the garage. I have a 4Runner on order (upgrading from a Camry). The Camry barely fit on that side. The only way it did was b/c of the rounded nose of the car. I have doubts about my new 4Runner fitting on that side.
