Ignition starts then dies

Hey everyone! The only way I can describe what happens is: I turn the ignition and the engine starts to turnover but stops and the starter stops cranking. I have been experiencing this more frequently. Not sure it this is related to my problem but sometimes i sit in the car with the acc on for the radio and roll windows up down on the ON function while sitting in my car reading etc. it tends to have the ignition problem more often when Ive done this.

Is this a electrical problem? Battery?

Any input is much appreciated.

Try jumping it. I had a similar problem with the wife's 4runner. Everything inside worked fine but wouldn't start, jumped it and started right up and ran great. Replaced battery ,all good since. Got a new one at Toyota dealership. Installed it in the parking lot, $118 out the door 84 month warranty.

sounds like your killing the battery and need a new one. Ive had mine in the on position playing the radio for an hour or two with no problems starting it after.

it restarts when i try a second time. It hasn't needed a jump yet.

ive been to the dealer recently and nothing was said about needing a new one. Can I test it myself? auto parts store have a tool to check battery life?

Auto zone will check a battery for free.

Some auto parts stores can load test the battery but you'll have to remove it and bring it in to do so; call and ask first.

Like others above said, it sounds like your battery is on it's way out.
