After searching for 3rd gen for about a month I finally picked one up. 2000 SR5 with sport package in black. 165,000 miles, sunroof, cloth, tinted windows, and well maintained.

The previous owner was pretty meticulous about maintenance and changing ALL fluids as well as giving it any attention it required. ALL fluid was replaced about 5-10k miles prior to me buying it. Also, shortly before I bought it timing belt, water pump, thermostat, crank seal, cam seal, flushed radiator, lubed driveshaft, yolk joints were all done.
I hated the gold emblems and the gold pin strip it came with so first things first I plati-dipped the emblems.

I gave it a full detail inside and out and its looking much better, although the paint isn't in great shape and being black its very noticeable. Especially, the front bumper and grille which had many large and small rock chips. Leading me to my first project repaint bumper and grille.
I wanted the front end to be durable and give a tough look so I decided to use spray on bed liner. Took the bumper off and taped of the flares that are attached to the bumper, as well as the top plastic portion of the bumper. I did this because I wanted to keep lines of the flares all the same texture and wanted to keep some of the smooth glossy black paint on the top of the bumper.

This is about 3 coats of bedliner in a spray can. I cleared it with gloss clear enamel and after about 2-3 coats it was very white/gray looking for some reason I was PISSED!! so I bought some gloss black enamel and put another 2-3 coats on it came out perfect!
At the same time I did the grille with the same method and it turned out pretty good but I have a 6" section on the main bar that needs to be sanded and re-done later.
Paint is wet in this picture.

sanded the gold emblem down to silver (looks ok)

I'll get some better pics in better lighting soon.
Next I thought id keep up on the good efforts of maintenance and ordered Denso plugs, Bosch wires, OEM fuel filter, OEM PCV valve, koyo radiator, and B&M trans cooler.

Installed all the above and took a few pictures of how I routed the cooler lines with 3/4" "sleeves" for added protection on spots it may rub.
