You guys are not going to believe this.

1,041 miles on the new Outback that replaced the 4 Runner guess what happened yesterday

I have no idea why the photo comes up sideways. Anyway going down the road and a guy swings a left into me - just did not see me. He was looking somewhere else. Airbags popped. Nailed it hard. I was in right lane going straight.

Police report - paramedics - everyone ok except bent and bruised. Guy admitted total fault and he was really nice enough - just made a mistake.

Insurance when I told them the airbags popped called the salvage yard to come and get it. No mention of taking it t a repair shop. I do have New Car Replacement on it and will let Safeco deal with Geico.

Been a heck of a year. BTW the Outbacks are quite nice.

May I suggest you buy a tank for your next car, lol. Glad you made it through this last wreck ok. Bad luck for sure this past year. Hopefully better days ahead.

I'll probably replace it with another just like it. For those of you who have not had the experience of the curtain and front airbags blocking - that's a hell of an experience.

Damn. You gotta be careful around that area. Somedays I'm surprised I made it home alive after hitting up home depot or the taco trucks. Glad you're ok.

I hope your luck improves, although it appears you are lucky that it's just things getting damaged, and not people.

FWIW, I recommend the garmin 55 dash camera. It's my second dash camera, and when somebody hit my new 4runner, it made things very easy.
I've got the parking mode cable too-- which I would recommend for you, as it wouldn't be shocking if a meteorite hit your next car while it was parked somewhere

Yeah I had a report filed for both times I got hit by someone in California. No one was injured. Makes insurance claim a whole lot easier when you have documentation from the police.

Certainly does. I don't have that issue - the guy admitted fault to the cops and to the insurance - and frankly speaking he's a totally stand up guy. Made a mistake and owned it. Not much more you can ask for. Accidents happen.

I do have "new car replacement" on my policy - "as seen on TV" that is more of a ***** - LOL - insurance loves to sell it but not to pay on it.

Next week it should sort out. Not my problem really however I imagine the subrogation will be a battle. My insurance will want everything they paid and his insurance will want a depreciated value.
