Check out this Hilux-Surf. It's like a "camper" edition, it's hard to tell how much of it's factory but it looks clean/neat enough to be. Looks like a sink, stove, and sleeping platform with storage compartments. Not only those cool pluses but also a diesel, rear tire carrier, hood scoop, cool bull bar and full load options (minus leather) and this is my dream truck.

Looks like an aftermarket roof rack too, not sure what that thing is attached to it.

Damn RHD tho! If it weren't for that I'd be calling the importer pronto.

Considering the amount of outdoors we have available here I find it odd we dont get some of the cool options.

yeah, i believe a JDM surf can be imported into canada without many problems? I have no clue how right that is, just relaying what ive heard (i think).

I know into the states is kind of rediculous though. Everything from swapping out windows to bracing door panels, and all other kinds of nonsense.

That is a beautifullly decked out rig - love that it has dual receivers. You're right, its a lot easier to bring in JDM spec here into Canada than the US, that's for sure but it's not necessarily a cheap option. There are a few nice Hiluxes and Pajeros plus the usual Skylines around town. I thought about picking up a 2nd Gen Hilux Surf that was available here last year but the government keeps saying they want to ban the RHD imports so I held off, plus insurance can be a bit of a killer on RHD as well.

Meh. Looks like a run-of-the-mill JDM Surf with a clever sleeping platform in the back. Anyone with average woodworking skills could probably fabricate something similar. Calling it a "camper" is a stretch - by that standard, anybody with a sleeping bag and a gas stove in their 4runner could characterize it as a "camper."

Otherwise, it's horrid, especially with that awful "brush guard" or "Damage multiplier" or cheap IKEA bookshelf thing attached to the grille.

All the superfluous plastic like the bulbous rear wing, fender flares and those awful bubble window shades make it look like a JC Whitney catalog threw up all over it. Not to mention the hideous side graphics that went out of style with MC Hammer parachute pants.

Oh, they also put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

and the graphics, this is almost as bad as the 4runner with 12 inches of body lift paint in half gold and half black down the center...

also thought it was funny for the sleeping platform they left the back seat bottoms in...asians are short..no way i could fit in there.

Ya, Canada's not bad at all other than the paperwork and a few mods to make it legal (day time running lights), it has to be 15 years old, so the 3rd gens are just starting to become available to us (IanB on here got the first one I seen here).

From what I hear for the states it's pretty much impossible.

They need to be 25 years old to import into the states, and it's tough finding anything that old that's still worth it.
