Hey all, Ive been stalking this forum and others for quite some time now, girlfriend already hates this site. I Noticed everyone here helps out a lot more than on other forums so I decided to finally sign up. So yes that means I, sadly, am considered a "newbie".

I just pulled the trigger on buying some Bilstein shocks to give my Runner a bit more lift/leveling and now I am gonna cover my ass by having you helpful folks around in case I run into a snag. Thanks in advance!

I'm not a complete newbie as I have been looking around here since I bought my Runner last Oct. Thanks to this site I have done quite a few mods to it and really appreciate the hard work others have put into figuring them out so people like me can make a good attempt at doing them successfully.

As of now I don't have any pictures of my "bulid/mods" but will put some up if I can figure out how and if they are interesting enough.

Some mods I have done already are
Led taillights,
added lights to bumper reflectors (only operates as brake lights),
rear window hack to roll up back window from FOB,
HID lows highs and fogs (yes I am that guy..... for now)
Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS deck (double din touchscreen with back up cam)
Rockford Fosgate 12" powered sub (for easy removal) and Fosgate door speakers
RCI Front, Engine, and Transmission skid plates
FJ wheels with bald tires (the 8 hole design)
changed lower DRL/blinker lights to headlight housing and swapped to led filed wire in flasher relay to stop turbo blinker
Tinted windows

so far that's it, I think

Hmm, add FJ 4x4 springs while you do your Billies in the front, set at max and throw in a 1.5" spacer in the rear.

you read my mind man! I still have a little while to get all the parts together but I was able to pick up some FREE FJ springs when I bought the rims and tires! The guy even threw in a strut spacer that came off his FJ when he lifted it. arty:

so I was thinking

I have the FJ springs, a strut spacer(only about an inch maybe 1.5"), and the Bilsteins. Whats the thoughts on combinations? I'm thinking set the Bilsteins at 1.75 with the spacer and the FJ springs with a Cornfed 1.5" in the rear? or go the full 2.5 and get a 2" cornfed.

ideally I would like a little rake something definitely noticeable but also want to lift (who doesn't)

I am open to all suggestions :cheers:

I've seen many reports about spacers being used in the rear but just came across one that says spacers in the front might not be a good thing but I really don't know the reasoning...

any one have any ideas?
