Just ordered a new set of OME rear 2"higher rate coils for my little hot rod. I have the Bilstein 5100 adjustable in the front set to the middle, and the 5100 with a 1.5" spacer in the rear.
When the coils arrive, Im going to raise the fronts up to max height, toss the rear coils in, set the toe and hit the trails.
New question; Can I use an additional 1" spacer in the front with the 5100's set to max for added lift?
Also, can I use the old 1.5" rear spacer in the rear with the new coils? If so, will there be enough rear shock and down travel with this combo?
Thanks in advance.

I have billies set at 1.75" with a 1" thick spacer on top! Also 2" coils in rear and a 1.5" cut down to a 1" thick! I would suggest adding a diff drop as well, it did make the angle on axles better!

Not suggested. The 5100 on the highest settings will be about 2.75" lift, adding a 1" spacer will net you ~ 4.75" lift. That is well beyond what your CV joints and UCA can handle.

IMHO that is just asking for disaster to occur.

Everyone has said, including retailers, if you use 5100s and OME springs you cannot put the 5100s at the highest setting. You should research it more.

I think he means, OME on rear only! Stock front springs, from my understanding. Since he said rear OME 2"

Thanks for the info gang. Thats why I asked about the additional spacer items. Sort of thought CV angles were going to come into play.
Sparky, when you did the 1" spacer in the rear, how much droop would you say the rear of your rig has?
For the front, when placing the Bilsteins at max height with the Stock front coil, how much droop is left?
@ Desert Fox, Im listening! Which axles are you referring to, and why?
Ultimately, I will be upgrading to a Camburg front upper arm, King, or Fox coilovers with the resi. But first Im looking to add wheel spacers front and rear. Then looking into either making my own under armor, or looking at a retail shop for the same under armor.
Thanks for the assistance fellas:biggrin2:

I really don't know, I would say it hasn't changed a whole lot from stock i guess. Had the rear jacked up this weekend installing billies in rear and it drooped good, didn't have any concerns.

No idea on second question, should be just fine.

i think desert fox doesn't have any in mind, just think maybe he is telling you to have some in mind. I have lifetime axles from Advanced Auto, when i went up again on suspension i swapped for another new set.
When changing heights, your boots are going to change as well. So i choose to swap for new. So i don't have a tear or leaking grease.

PS, i have removed the sport tube steps, if anyone is interested.

Total chaos is the only longer axle option I know of . It is used with their long travel and wider wheel base kit . Upper arms, lower arms and axles are about $5k. Plus you still need dual front shocks and fiberglass fenders. Figure about $9k when done .

New OME coils installed. Love em! Havent lifeted the front yet. Kind looks like a stinkbug driving around. No rear spacers, just the OME coils. Rides on road perfect.
Without the added rear spacers, these coils have a surprising amount of droop. Will raise the front Bilsteins this weekend to make t he rig look a little normal. Looking for wheel spacers next. One toy at a time.
