Im thinking about selling my baby

That's right. I have a 2006 limited, 68,xxx miles, ome lift, spidertraxx, and new bfg's. The truck is so clean, but I haven't got to use it like I thought I would. It was never seen off road use.. no towing, no nothing.

I thought I would be able to use a 4runner to its capability, but with working and everything its not happening. So I'm feeling it out. $24,000.

I have tons of other extras if any ones interested. I know that sounds high, but I cant let it go for cheaper.

If you can't let it go cheaper..then keep it. You have to look at the buyers point of view. $24k is way too high for this vehicle. Even the limited fully loaded is going for less.

And then there's financing. A finance company isn't going to lend you one dime over the value of the vehicle. Someone may be willing to buy it for $24k..but if they might have a problem getting a loan for that amount.

Most Credit Unions will lend up to 125% of the NADA value of the vehicle so long as the borrowers credit is strong. (740+ fico score)

Yeah. I knew getting into lifting it, it would become a money pit. I've got title in hand, just wanted to feel it out.

What does a limited with 33's go for?

The general opinion is that you'll never get your mod money back and that you'd be better off parting out. Unless you can find a buyer looking for that specific setup, I'd say you'd be lucky to get much over what they're selling for in stock form. I've tried selling lifted vehicles before, not the easiest thing to do. They always seem to be worth more to you than anyone else because you've got all the time/money/effort put into the mods.

Do a search on cargurus.com and see what the stock ones are listed for around a 100 mile radius of your location.When I was searching, it seemed like you could add at most $1000 for each 10,000 mile difference for same vehicle just as a benchmark.

Hopefully you kept the stock parts and can put it back to stock then you can sell the other parts. When you modify a vehicle you very seldom get any money in return. When I lifted mine it was to suit my needs and I realized it was a turn off for most buyers.

I would replace it with an STI

yeah I trashed the stock parts.. sold the old tires. The old parts had 65,000 miles on then, so I figured it was time to replace any ways. The tires are so big I couldn't go back down with out buying a new set of tires. they were the biggest 33's I could get for a 18's and not get super wide.

That's a huge leap going from the lifted 4runner to the STI. It all depends on what you feel you'd get the most use out of. If you think you'd enjoy and use the STI more for it's intended purpose, the decision is pretty easy. However, price is one thing you may have to compromise on to make this happen. Either part out or be very patient trying to find a buyer. It should be pretty easy to sell your mods, only issue would be things like the suspension and tires, it's not something you can sell, ship, and wait for a replacement to come in. You can always just throw it out there and see what happens, you never know. I've had great luck with Craigslist, sold my last two vehicles there within 2 weeks of posting.

Actually modding your truck like lift etc decreases the worth. You will get at best stock price and generally slightly lower. Just because people aren't sure if the lift etc was questionably done. Good luck with the sale all i'm saying is mods=bad resale value

Good luck. It's only worth around $18k average. You always eat mods. I sold a corporate sponsored show vehicle with over $50k appraised in mods and audio/video equipment for only a little over blue book value a few years ago. The kid that bought it got a hell of a deal. Sadly mods don't help the value.

I did the opposit of you I sold my evo8 to get my fj (already had my 4runner). I know that a Mitsubishi isn't a Toyota but i ended up selling it for 15,000 it blue booked over 20,000+. I had so much money ino it I ended up selling as much of the parts as I could the only getting 15,000 didn't hurt as much.

I would first list it and try to sell it as is with the lift and tires. I bought mine with a 2" lift, K&N Intake and boy racer muffler. 2007 Sport fully loaded including NAV and Rear Entertainment 54K miles for $24K (in California)

First thing I did was remove the intake and boy racer muffler, put the stock parts back on and then mounted Duratracs. For me the lift being done was a selling point as that was the first thing I was going to do anyway. If it had tires that would have been a selling point as well.

Sure I may have overpaid, but the truck has every service record stamped in the book since new, not a scratch, pre lifted, fully loaded. To be honest I was also tired of looking. Probably drove and saw a dozen trucks most beat and the ones that weren't had high miles and no service records. All within $2-4K of each other.

Some of us are/were looking for a done truck to drive not to wrench.
