:help:Long story short my compressor crapped out. So I replaced main components all the way around. Now my problem, while disconnecting high line right behind firewall on engine by side. I removed a small "clamshell" cover. The clips on it broke, part was ruined. I went straight to the stealership to get another, they ran my vin and said that the part wasn't in the system or diagrams! If anyone has a part number or proper name for this part please share it with me! This is all that is stopping me from charging my system! I put a couple pics below of the line with the part and the line without the part. :help:

a/c line coupler? a/c spring lock? a/c line clamp?

I am totally guessing, that's what it reminds me of though.

I know the clip you are talking about but cant recall what its called, but!! instead of going to the stealership have you gone to a shop that does A/C repair and ask them if they had any or a pick-n-pull... I would imagine that you will have to go somewhere that services A/C if you bleed out the system... unless you have the tools to recover the system??

I'm betting that the little clamp is part of the assembly. From what I can see, I think the part number for the line is 8871635390. If you do a google search of that part number, you can see some diagrams, but it is hard to tell if it is an assembly or not.

I really appreciate the help guys! So I began to call the local salvage yards this morning and was having a tough time locating anything with a 3.4, but eventually I found a 2002 4runner in a nearby city. I got to talking with the owner, and he gave the part to me for free ! Tomorrow I'll be taking the truck to a family friend's shop to get vacuumed and charged. Once again thanks for the help, I can always count on fellow forum members !!
