Got hammered with 33 inches from Nemo. My 2012 Trail edition performed flawlessly. I stayed off the roads but had to venture out once to pick up my wife from her job. The roads were unplowed and a lot of vehicles were abandoned with no occupants in them. The 4Runner tracked straight and true,no slipping whatsoever.I had to drive though a four and a half foot drift to get to her building with no problem. Also have only praise for the tires I replaced the stock Dunlops with the Toyo Open Country AT II. All in all I would rate the 4Runner at least as good as my old FJ in the snow. Feel very safe in it.

I'm jealous and quite disappointed that Chicago area has not had a decent snowfall in over 1.5 years.
When we had the blizzard two years ago, I took my (then new) Limited out to play in the snow. I actually tried to get stuck but couldn't even come close.
(stock rims and yokahama tires)
I've been waiting for another substantial snowstorm, but it doesn't seem like we will get one here in Chicagoland.
