in need of opinions

i know everyone pretty much hates 8000k and higher but....

10k low and 10k fogs
or
10k low and 8k fogs
or
10k low and 3k fogs
or
12k low and 3k fogs
or
8k low and 8k fogs

i really didnt want any opinions on that i should get 4300k or 6000k instead of those options...

so which one would you chose out of those? gotta chose one!

hey, i have an 05 as well, havent gotten aroudn to posting pictures, but anyway i just installed 6000s in the low and 3000 for the fogs.. they look nice.. but sometimes i think instead of hte standard 35W ballasts you can now get the 55W which give u liek double almsot triple light output.

i liek the fogs to be more yellow that's why i picked 3000k. if you're goign with.

I think you shoudl do 10 and 3. you'll be bright as hell, but i think it'll look good. or 4300 for the fogs.

you would need the whole kit. I bought my kits at ddm, other's suggest xenon depot.

each kit will come with ballast, ignitor and bulb. for 2005
low beams/ fog = 9006. (pls double check on the forums)

so you'll need 4 kits. i wouldnt suggest getting 35W now and then switching them out.. if you're gonna get one just stick to it. Since its kind of a hassle to switch the ballasts after you've zip tired and double sided taped them to your car lol. 35W is still extremely bright, they do a comparison on the website so feel free to check it out.

you know, 8000K and up really is just wasted light. Plus during extended night driving it's reported that it becomes a strain on your eyes, plus a nuisance to others especially if you don't have projectors.

I like the idea of 3000K for fogs and 6000K 55w kit for lows.

12K ? Any higher than than that, and you might as vell get ultraviolet setup, better yet: X-Ray. Going too high means you are approching less detectable by human eye range output. Aren't the headlights for visability? My appologies to those who just want to look cool at any cost. :bash:

All the comments about lack of visibility and strain on the eyes are very true, I think when upgrading your headlights you should actually try to get as much light as possible, not pick something to look cool (and that is assuming you think violet-ish is a cool headlight color).

i agree anythign over 6000k is more colour then light, the werid thing is all HIDs are scatter unless you have retrofitted them with projectors. Oddly the 05s have this reflector in front of the housing and it totally doesnt blast into vehicles in front of you. I was expecting to get some revenge on ppl who spray me with their lights. anyway i like my set up hah, sometimes the fogs look green from the yellow and blue, and you can always turn off the fogs as well. anyway choose what you like, but most ppl here dont reccomend going over 6000 for the low.

True true true.

4300K is maximum output. Is what the OEM's use.

6000K is the highest I'd go getting you a whiter light bordering blue output, although at the expense at less lumens.

Blue, Pink, Purple lights are just dumb IMO and just create a nuisance, especially when put in reflector/refractor headlights. FYI, 10,000-12,000K is basically getting into UV territory.

well i ended up buying a whole bunch of kits from xentec or something(ebay store). he had 100% and alot of sales. the kits were $68.98 each and i got 10k for the low beams and 3k for the fog lights. i also ordered for my friend with an infiniti i30 12k for high and 12k for low.

i went with the 10k and 3k because i think they look sick together. i am not really interested in having the brightest light possible. i did the blue and yellow for looks im not trying to go for performance. ill post pictures when they are installed and maybe i can sway a few of you towards my views. ill also put pics of my friends 12k's... i didnt pick those out im not a big pink/purpley guy.

anyone have any tips on were to mount the hids? the kit comes with double sided tape not brackets. any write-ups?

Be careful on those cheap HID's, make sure they have waterproof ballasts and have a good warranty. Many on this forum, myself included, have had very bad experiences with cheap-o HID's.

Hope you enjoy the new lights though, although I disagree about your choice on the lo-beams, 3000k is the best choice for fogs!

well if 4300 or 6K isnt in the mix...go to the next highest.

you are loosing huge amounts of human eye visible lumens by running into the 10-12Kelvin range.

I heard they're trying to pass a law that any citizen that gets blasted by oncoming 6000K or higher low beam headlights on a street vehicle can legally bash them in with a baseball bat... The lights, too. :bash:

If I were King: No more than 5000K low beam headlights, 3000K fogs. And I personally trashed my stock fogs with 2500K Hella Optilux. You guys will be smashing into stuff in bad weather while I drive on. What a difference!

there kit is better quality compare to the kits i seen, too many people i know uses some cheap ass kit and try to show me out, i tell them its not even great compare to mines, remember u get what u pay for.also they are the only one who have great customer suport. the ddm kit that someone else here has , they are apexcone, one of the best hid kits, same as bellof and catz, now its all about digital and performance.
