Inches Matter

So I am looking to put a ladder on my 4Runner and need a little help. I am running a Rhino Rack roof rack and need to know the Minimum spacing between the rack and trunk when it is fully open? I believe I have about 1-1/2 inches between the two when open.

Hopefully this all makes sense.

If responding can you please let me know what ladder you have? Also any pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have a Gobi ladder and GFC tent (no rack). I have about 2 inches between the tallest point of the ladder, and the tent when the trunk is opened.

The ladder isn't adjustable, but the GFC is (horizontally).

I'm not familiar with the Rhino Rack, but couldn't you just move it forward if it's too close?

A bit related, but the further the rack is from the ladder, the more space you will have when climbing up there. While it's nice to have everything as close and snug as possible, it limits your foot space when climbing up

You should have room with the Victory 4x4 ladder. The top bracket sits less than an inch off the top of the hatch. Hopefully this photo is helpful!

You may not know this, but Gobi makes two types of ladders. One is a bit shorter up top so it doesn’t hit the trd pro rack. This might be the offset you may need. I have the shorter one for my pro rack.
