I currently have 08 Honda Odyssey and Im thinking about trading for the 2010 4Runner (w/o the 3rd row option). I have 2 boys (infant and toddler) and plan to have a 3rd. Currently I have a foward facing infant seat and a rear facing infant seat. I know that both of these infant seats can fit in the 4Runner. By the time I have the third, I would have 2 foward facing seats and 1 rear facing seat. Would all three fit in the 4Runner? Does anyone have pics?

i bought my wife a sienna cause honestly the runner is a little tight and uncomfortable in the back.
the truck is awesome in everyway except if you sit in the back.
i have one baby seat and between that and everything else a kid comes
with there was no room.

Thanks for the pics. Im actually trying to figure out if all three infant/toddler seats would fit in the second row. 1 rear facing infant seat and 2 foward facing toddler seats. The reason why Im not looking at the 3rd row option is because I need the cargo space for the strollers and etc...

It may be a little tight depending on the width of the car seats you are using. Something else to consider if you are in the U.S. Without running boards, your toddler will have a hard time getting in and out. My five year old used to be able to climb into our Explorer with running boards and now she has to be lifted in and out of the 4R. You might want to negotiate running boards.
Personally, after owning the 5th Gen 4R, I cannot think of another sport ute I would want to drive - this vehicle is awesome and I can live without the running boards.

I have a 2010 SR5 and have a forward-facing toddler carseat and a rear-facing infant seat in the backseat. The space between the two is 12". You might be able to squeeze a third in between, but you would probably have to have three of the smallest carseats on the market. There is, however, just enough room for a smaller adult or teenager to sit in between the two.

I recently picked up a limited with third row and when i put my toddler seat in the middle row, I realized that the LATCH system is upside down. What I mean is when I use the latch buckles on the toddler seat (britax), I have to turn it upside down to engage the LATCH hook in the car. Its not a big deal other than having to twist the straps, but that makes tightening it up after latched in a pain. Anyone else have this problem?

I have two car seats in the 2nd row seat. They fit fine but the space between them if very small, not enough for a child. My kids are 2 yrs old and they love the visibility they have when in my truck. In moms van they cant see anything when driving around. Another thing is its kind tough to get them in and out, you have to be carefull not to bang their head. Not the best car for kids but ok for once in a while. Good luck.
I have three forward facing seats. The youngest sits in the second row while the two older ones sit in the thrid row. The three seat will fit cause i did it for three weeks on loaner 4R from toyota. If you have to move them it is a pain. But i leave them in. The third row has enough room 9 yrs old. Remeber the second row can move forward to give the third alittle more room. LEather is a must with little ones.

The car seat topic forced me to chime in. I have to recommend sunshine kids car seats for situations like this. I currently have two of their radian 65 car seats, and I am very pleased with them. My kids sleep well in them. They are heavy duty, offer side impact protection, crash tested, and are probably the narrowest convertible car seat on the market. Like any convertible, the rear facing position is not friendly to front seat passenger leg room. But when in the forward facing position, you could easily fit three across in the 5th gen.

I noticed BPWILTON has a britax in his 4r and it looks like he's using the LATCH. Did you have any difficulties plugging in the LATCH from the britax into the seat? On my Limited, the clearance isnt adequete so I have to flip the plug over (one side is thicker than the other). Just wondering if you had the same problems.

Nope, didn't have any problems using the LATCH on the Brittax or on the Chicco infant seat base. I'm not quite sure what the problem could be.
bpwilton, how tall are you? I tried to sit in front of a infant carrier in a 4th Gen and there was no way I could do it (I'm 6'3"). My wife even felt cramped when sitting in front of the carrier on the passenger side and she is short!
Leg room listed on Edmunds.com appears to be almost identical for 4th and 5th Gen, but I might have to end my search for a clean 4th Gen and buy a 5th Gen if there is more room back there.

I'm 6'3" also. I probably have the driver's seat around the middle of it's front-back travel for my normal driving position, and with the infant carseat behind it, there is still about 4 inches of space between the seat and the carseat.
