I recently went on a 4 day 4x4 trip through Death Valley. The 4runner performed admirably. It was an awesome trip and we made it through mostly unscathed. I'll try to make a thread with pictures for that trip...

I ended up getting some rock damage on a couple of my wheels. There's a couple areas where the metal is exposed. Almost looks like I hit a curb.

Looking for suggestions on what to use to touch these up.

Has anyone found a good touch up paint for the black wheels?

Anyone seen any good deals on these lately? I've seen only 1 legit set on ebay for 700 but its 100 for shipping. Gonna see if my dealership will match that but i doubt it. Anyways, if anyone has seen some deals on them let me know!!

We've been super swamped lately, and haven't been able to reply to forum messages and e-mails as quickly as we'd like (although we always answer our phones / return phone calls right away). I know that a lot of you are interested in our new wheel, and many of you have already ordered (thank you to everyone who has ordered!).

Here are the specs of our new wheel:

Toyota specifics: 106mm hub centric for Toyota hubs, lug holes drilled for 12mm Toyota wheel studs for a snug fit, and center machined to accept flat snap-in OE center cap* (not the raised OE Pro cap). *OEM center cap not included. Plain center cap will be included with the wheels.

We sought to answer the demand from 4Runner owners / T4R.org members with this wheel. Many of us feel that the OE wheel missed the ball so to speak with the 7" wheel width. There is no debate as to whether or not a 7" wide wheel falls into the tire manufacturers' approved rim width range for the popular 285/70R17 tire size (it does not). Some will debate whether or not it is still safe, but at the end of the day if it's not in the tire manufacturers' approved specifications you may find your tires wearing prematurely or unevenly, and if so, the tire manufacturer is under no obligation to warranty your tires. This is also not to mention potential safety concerns with pinching a wider tire on too narrow of a wheel.

Consequently, we spent almost a year talking with 4Runner owners about this wheel. We discussed what improvements should made, and then we spent many hours working with our engineering and design time, testing, casting multiple samples, testing again, certifying the wheels, and finally coming up with the wheel you see here.

The specs of the FN Wheels ƒ(x) Pro are perfect for lifted 4Runners with larger tires (especially the super popular 285/70R17 size), but the ƒ(x) Pros will also work great with OEM suspension and OE sized 265/70R17 (or 265/65R17 tires for previous generation 4Runners). The quality of the wheels is consistent with FN Wheels' commitment to offering a premium product in the specs, colors, finishes, etc. that our customers want.

Just picked up a 2018 TRD OFF ROAD. If I level the front (1-1.5 inches) what size tire could I run with these wheels?

well I clearly don't have a 5th gen but this thread helped me make the decision to go with the wheels that I went with. I love em. I ended up ordering the gloss gunmetal grey which is very dark, and using chrome lugnuts and the FNW center cap. I also got the matching gunmetal grey caps, and I MUCH prefer the machined FNW caps. Since my rig is not a TRD, nor are the wheels, I didn't want to put that on the wheels. Thanks for the help this thread provided!

some notes: I have Camburg Upper control Arms, 1.25inch uniball. I put LT265/70R17 BFG All-terrain T/A KO2 on as well. Awesome tire. they rubbed on the wheel well liner when in reverse. pushing the wheel well liners forward was all I needed to do. Easy.

Update :literally no issues with the wheels whatsoever. balanced easily, clean easily (I threw a coat of carwax on them before installing), and look sharp. I wanted the FNW caps because they're not Toyota wheels exactly; they are wider, have a deeper dish, and when I put them next to the TRD Pro in the family, they do definitely look different. You can't tell when they're apart as easily, or in photos.

Yes, you just have to contact them. I suspect that due to their striking resemblance to a certain factory wheel that they aren't trying to be super obviously about it.

These are really nice and I really like the machined FNW cap as well. Was there an extra charge for that cap or is that the OE version?
