Inner cv shaft bearing,,differential bearing replacement

This problem on my 2005 4runner.

I replaced both cv shafts last month, but the noise was not cured. I find now that it is the inner end of the cv shaft on drivers side that has play in it and making the noise. I can shake the inner end back and forth.

Anyone replaced that bearing? Hard to do? Anything else that will need replaced with it? Any special tools needed?

Edit: it is the needle bearing in the differential, drivers side.

Is it doable?

That looks good! They say it fits 4wd, but not the awd.?? I thought all 4runners were the same? I thought mine was awd AND 4wd?

I have hi and low knob,,,should be considered 4wd?

If your full time, thats AWD and you will only be able to swap between LO and HI. If your 4wd, thats normally rear wheel drive, and you can switch to 4WD HI or 4WD LO.

It does not fit the AWD, its not normally an issue in the AWD

Only the V8 is AWD, I see that you have the V6(?) if so it's 4WD so then you're good to go!

The V8 models can't be 2WD it's full time 4WD.
