INNO Roof Rack Cross Bars

Has anyone had any luck with the Inno brand cross bars? Four locking feet & 2 cross bars for $299 - seems like a pretty good deal when compared to Thule or Yakima ($$$$). Just wondering if I'm paying for the name brand, or paying for NOT getting the name brand. Has anybody had experience with Inno? Any other suggestions? If I am seeing it right, looks like 349 for locking Thule cross bars, what's an extra 50 when you are already spending 300. Then again I have a pretty liberal mentality when it comes to spending money lol, good luck either way.

IMO they kinda all suck. The OEM rails are crap. So whatever you put on them isn't going to be much better than OEM rails that are $100. The older style t-slot rails were a lot better. If I were planning to use it much, I would buy 4 yakima landing pad/qtowers and a piece of 1.5x1.5x0.25 aluminum angle - bolt the angle to the factory rails and mount the landing pads to the angle. Then you'd have a good set of quick release rails. And you should be well under $300.

LoL - yeah, I used to be pretty liberal with the lettuce too, but buying a house so the funny money has to be stretched a bit further. The extra $50 (more or less) was going to buy a set of kayak carriers:

I already have a set of these and they're great. Very low cost alternative and rock solid so far. I guess no one's really used the Inno bars.

By older style t-slots, are you talking about the ones that came with the 2010-2013 trail model? The taller, black ones? Those seemed a bit sturdier than the current set. Not sure I understand what you mean with the Yakima towers. Bolt the angle to the factory rails ACROSS the truck? Sounds interesting, but not sure I'm following.

I hear you on the house buying, going through the same thing currently. That is a great price for that style carrier. I just have two sets of Thule J racks mounted on the stock cross bars. Haven't had any problems but of course me being me I had to switch the hand turn mounting hardware for regular bolts and lock nuts. Gives me a little sense of security that no one is going to just snag them off my truck. They will have to work for it lol. Good luck it everything though.

I had an Inno rack in my previous car. Its build quality was similar to that of a thule.

Inno's parent company is Carmate if you are wondering if its a reputable company.

Good to know… THANKS! I really didn't know anything about them. Looks like they have a few authorized dealers on the west coast - CA, OR, WA.
