Inside door handles will not work?

For some reason, last night i could not open my door from the driver side from the inside but i could open it perfectly fine from the outside. Does anyone know what the issue might be before i open the panels up and how easy the fix is?

Pretty simple. Our doors are an all mechanical operation. There is a rod going from the inside door lever to the outside door lever.

Take the door panel off and have a look see. Something probably broke or has come undone.

In order to take the door panel off you need to first remove the inner door lever. If I'm not mistaken, you have to take the control cluster out too, If power windows mirrors and locks, but I don't remember. When prying off the door panel you have to lift up and make sure the little tab that locks the door comes out. It too is attached to the opening mechanism. Be careful because you will have wiring going from the speaker to the door, so unhook that as we'll.

Once you've got the panel off take a look. Open and close the door while looking at the mechanisms working. Of simply see what the problem is right away and fix it.

Little plastic keepers are the sort of thing that ConstantFix is speaking of (these are pics from a rear door, but same idea- maybe not same color- and it'll look a little different in there). Just follow the rods to either end:
Flip up the greenish keeper for the door lock:


The keepers are kind of neat. Flip up, pull out.
