timing chain gasket leak at 20k

I have the famous timing chain gasket leak at 20k miles and it's under warranty of course, i was wondering what other peoples experiences have been when getting this fixed under warranty.

IE any issues afterwards? My biggest concern is it will just leak again.

I guess i get a free oil change and new coolant out of it....:wave:

2024, a model? They are all the same but it's a TRD Pro.

So you have a one year old (2024) with part time 4WD.
The engine timing chain cover is leaking in your opinion. Now to convince Toyota that it needs to be repaired to NOT leak. I have read lots of labor needed to get at this to do a proper repair.
Is your only warranty the basic warranty?
I ask because I personally purchased a 7year 100,000 mile "warranty" Toyota calls a extended Service Agreement. I used it at 48,000 miles and 63 months when my basic drive train warranty 5/60 had timed out.
My local dealer is not the dealer I purchased my SR5 from. But it is closer to my residence. I have spent many trips going from home to their dealership.
My runner received a $3,000 new torque converter and then a month later a $5,000 tranny which actually solved the driving problem my runner developed. So $8,000 Toyota paid my servicing dealer to fix my runner.
I was fortunate the service manager personally owned a 4runner, so he was sympathetic.
I recommend talking to your chosen servicing dealer's service writers and service managers. Their opinions will determine the effort you will need to put out to get your 4runner fixed to your liking. This might be your only warranty issue ever or it could be the FIRST!

No it's not my opinion as it's defiantly leaking, dealer said they would fix under warranty but i have read a lot of bad stories about it.

It's not leaking bad or enough to drip on to the skid plate.

What did you do to it that it needed a torque converter, then a transmission?

My drivability issue at 48,000 miles was " shudder/chatter at low throttle, about 25-35 mph in "D" . It felt like my smooth pavement City Street had instantly turned into a washboard dirt road.
My dealer investigation determined my Torque Converter was the problem after re-flashing the tranny brain, changing the ATF etc.
So parts came in and new TC was installed.
I started my own on-line research into this shudder issue for the A750 tranny in 4 runners and Tacomas. I discovered Toyota has a propriety Flex Lock system controlled in the Tranny valve body. There are TSB's going back many years about this issue. Its malfunction causes the Torque Converter to fail to smoothly release and instead causes the shudder/chatter as the Torque Converter acts as a momentary brake.
The shudder started as soon after I got my runner home with new Torque Converter because the root cause was in the Tranny valve body.
Do since dealers only replace components, I got a new tranny.
