Installation help

I have a body lift coming and looked through the installation instructions. I decided to get ahead of it and start removing interior panels. There are two fasteners I was hoping to get help with. The larger panels under the dash, have a cap of some kind that covers a fastener. It has three holes in the top of it. I can't figure out how to remove this cap. I tried prying with a screw driver but met lots of resistance and no progress. Can any one help with this? Also it talks about loosening the wheel wells by removing the fasteners. Before I try, could anyone give any tips on how to loosen them without breaking them.

Thanks. It helped some. I had run across this before, but couldn't find it again. Thanks for the link. The model he's doing must have been just old enough that it doesn't have the same mounting of that panel under the dash. The part with removing the bumper, although again it's an older model, shows very well how to remove the clips. I think the clips are still the same or very similar, so that will definitely help so I don't break them. So I'm still hoping for a bit of help on that clip on the panel under the dash. To explain it further, the panel covers the electrical wiring from the floor to the dash and has a foot of sorts that comes down, and makes a 90 degree bend to the floor of the rig. This goes around a fastener, either a pin or screw. I can't tell which. The screw or pin is covered by a cap with three holes in it. The cap is what I can't get to come off. I'm not sure if something needs to be inserted in the holes or if it just pry's off. I put some force on it with a screw driver and it wouldn't come off. It came some, but stopped and in fear of breaking it, I stopped. I could push it back down and it clicked like it went back into place, but it wouldn't come off. Maybe I need to pry from both sides at once. Just don't want to break it.

I think I know what you're talking about. I've taken that off in the past by unscrewing it.

Are you planning to re-gear? And do you actually need the larger tires or just want them for looks?



Because they're gonna drive like crap without a re-gear.

Yes I will be regearing to 4.56. And do I need larger tires? No. But that's not going to stop me. I already feel like I'm driving a tank so how much worse can it get

I think I know what you're talking about. I've taken that off in the past by unscrewing it.

Darn, wish I'd have looked here first, but tried to unscrew it earlier, and it worked. It's sort of a plastic nut of sorts. I used a needle nose in two of the holes. It worked fine. As long as I can get the wheel wells loose without breaking fasteners, I should be OK.

Buyer Beware with Fat Pats...

Holy crap that's horrible. I know there has to be better kits out there than this by now, for sure. Looking at kits right now. If anyone has recs let me know.

It looks like the Low Range Off-Road has center holes... lol
